My experience of using 'Silvo Wadding' spans about 12 years. I used to be an Antique dealer and spent many hours happily cleaning silver and silver plate items to sell. I started out using the Silvo pink cream polish which was quite hard work and always took a few applications to really get the dirt out of the silver and bring out the true colour and shine of the metalware.


Most people who deal in silver and silver plate use the Silvo wadding and it was recommended to me for just this purpose. I immediately found it so much easier to use than the liquid polish and much quicker also. With the liquid you need to use a soft cloth or as duster and this doesn't really give any real power to the polish. With the wadding, the slightly rough fibrous quality of it does half of the work for you. However 'Silvo Wadding' does not scratch or damage the surface of the silverware in any way. It just gives it an almost instant clean and shines with the minimum of rubbing involved.


-0- SILVO TARNISH GUARD SILVER POLISH WADDING -0-

This product comes contained in a small metal tin with a blue screw top lid. The tin is silver and white in appearance and bears the Royal Appointment seal. It states that the polish is long lasting due to its tarnish guard formula. Inside the tin is one large wrapped piece of wadding, much like thick cotton wool and you pull pieces off the main lump as required. The tin contents are 75g. The wadding is pink and quite wet with a strong polish smell and there are quite a few precautions to be observed to the reverse of the tin.

After using this product for many years, I have to say I experienced no ill effects. But I did always wear rubber gloves when using this product to clean. It is really effective and the best silver polish that I have tried. It is perfect for silver plated or silver cutlery, candle-sticks, trays, anything silver that requires cleaning will be benefited by Silvo. Basically the wadding does the hard work and cuts the time of the job in hand by half. -
