Advantages: works well, inexpensive
Disadvantages: none
There are some things that I really do not believe in spending more than I have to on and one of those things is toilet rolls. After all, each sheet is only going to end up flushed down the loo! As we were running out recently, I nipped in to Tesco with the intention of buying a pack of their value rolls. They only seemed to come in packs of four (at least in the store I was in) and a pack of four was going to cost me about £1.20. 'Not bad!' I thought. However, that was when I spotted a pack of nine Springforce toilet tissue rolls for only £1.99. Well, it didn't take long for me to do the maths and so in the end, this was the pack that I bought.
This toilet tissue is made from recycled paper and has the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) seal of approval. Recycled toilet tissue does seem to have come quite a long way since it was first introduced, and these toilet rolls are nowhere near as uncomfortable or as scratchy as some of their predecessors! In fact, although they are not quite as soft as Andrex, there really is nothing to complain about in terms of comfort. Neither is there anything to complain about in terms of absorbency as, without going into graphic detail, they are very good at doing the job for which they are intended! As well as being used for the obvious, they are also pretty good for blowing noses and mopping up spills!
The tissue is two ply and there are over 200 regular sized sheets on a roll and this is a similar number to the amount that you would find on most brands. The paper also has quite an attractive perforated diamond pattern throughout. It does only come in white but this is really only a problem if you are concerned about colour matching bathrooms and personally that does not concern me at all.
So overall, there is really a lot to recommend these toilet rolls. They are strong, comfortable and absorbent and best of all they do not cost the earth. On Tesco's website they are sold for £1.99 for the nine pack that I mentioned earlier and this equates to only 11 pence for every hundred sheets which is really good value. Added to this that by using this toilet tissue you are doing your small bit for the environment, then they really are worth considering. And as they are only available in Tesco, you will get clubcard points too.
Summary: Inexpensive toilet tissue
