Take one scoop of terminally moulting cat with a penchant for digging up houseplants, a one-year old baby, a bowl of spaghetti bolognese, and a beaker of apple juice. Sift together with an open fake fireplace (complete with greasy fake coals), a wooden high chair and a woollen rug. Put all the ingredients in a medium sized living room and allow to mix for the best part of a day. Once the living room is well coated, top with a large-booted husband (who is a Stonemason), sprinkled lightly with granite dust. Turn the husband out into a clean bath, which will miraculously attract glue, dye, paint, and whatever else he happens to have been working with that day. ... Read the complete review

I remember when I was younger my nan having what I thought was a delicious honey coloured drink with a cute little character on the label sitting underneath the kitchen sink and thinking how yummy it looked. So being young you have to try it - eeuughhh! This stuff does not taste nice! I later learnt that it is supposed to be used for cleaning and not drinking. Many years passed and one day I was shopping in our local Savers and the label caught my eye. At only 59p I grabbed a couple of bottles. The full name of the product is Concentrated Stardrops - The all-round cleaner. The packaging is very retro. The bottle is clear and features a white flip ... Read the complete review

I read about this product on the moneysavingexpert forums, it's been around for years, but it's not something I've ever seen in any of my relatives houses. First off I was surprised about how cheap it was. I bought it from my local Sainsbury's and it was less than £1 for the standard 600ml bottle. People on the forums were raving about this product so I thought it must be more expensive! The bottle is quite nicely designed, with raised stars on the plastic and a simple, colourful label which lets you see around the sides so you can tell how much you have left. The liquid is pretty bright yellow, and smells good when you flip the cap. I bought ... Read the complete review

I have a very independent six year old daughter- she loves to get her breakfast herself in the morning, which generally results in milk, sugar, and bits of mashed up weetabix all over the kitchen floor and worksurfaces.. Then, if it's not a school day, she'll maybe sit at the kitchen table and play with her play-doh, or her paints, and a good portion of that will probably decorate the floor too. Then, I'll make several cups of tea, and because, stupidly,my bin is nowhere near my kettle, there will be a trail of tea drips along the floor from where I have carried the tea-bag to the bin . At the end of a busy day, my floor can sometimes resemble a Jackson Pollock painting ... Read the complete review

I was introduced to stardrops a couple of months ago when a friend was given some as part of a moving house present (wonderful idea I thought!). I have always been one for using brand named cleaning products - even more so if they claim to make light work of all the cleaning! This means I was a little sceptical of stardrops at first. It generally comes in a half litre bottle, very simple packaging and is bright yellow in colour. It is also very cheap indeed! You can easily get a half litre bottle for 80p - sometimes even less. The first thing I noticed with stardrops is the smell. Personally I think it smells horrible and has one of those smells ... Read the complete review
