I was introduced to stardrops a couple of months ago when a friend was given some as part of a moving house present (wonderful idea I thought!). I have always been one for using brand named cleaning products - even more so if they claim to make light work of all the cleaning! This means I was a little sceptical of stardrops at first.

It generally comes in a half litre bottle, very simple packaging and is bright yellow in colour. It is also very cheap indeed! You can easily get a half litre bottle for 80p - sometimes even less.

The first thing I noticed with stardrops is the smell. Personally I think it smells horrible and has one of those smells that catches in your chest when you breathe in. The smell does wear off quickly though and certainly hasn't stopped me using this wonderful product.

For general cleaning simply dilute a couple of drops of stardrops into hot water and mix, it will soap up quiet a lot. Then use a clean cloth to clean as normal. For such a small amount of such a cheap product the results are amazing. Stardrops gives a fantastic shine to metal work such as taps and sinks, makes ceramics look really fresh. A great tip for the bathroom is to dilute some stardrops in a spray bottle and spray tiles etc after a shower, it really helps to keep the limescale at bay and keep things looking fresh on a daily basis.

I have also used stardrops neat on tough cooker staines, leave it for a couple of miutes then wash off, it really does make light work of burnt on food. Like wise stardrops diluted can be used on windows, mirrors and even floors. Very diluted stardrops can also be used as a stain remover on carpets and even bed clothes!

A really cheap, really effective cleaning product that lasts for ages!
