Surcare Fabric Conditioner
Advantages: doesn't irritate my skin, makes clothes soft
I really like the Surcare range at the moment and when I can find a new product to try, I will buy it. The reason I like them so much is that with me having such sensitive skin, I have to be so careful about what I am using in terms of washing up liquid and detergent but also fabric softener is a major one as well. I hadn't seen the Surcare Fabric Conditioner until I was in another branch of Tesco, a larger store and they had it in stock. I have been using their detergent for a while so to now have the fabric conditioner to go with it, surely the results would be even better. It does state on the front that this is a sensitive Surcare product also.
This product comes in a tall clear plastic bottle with a white metallic like cap/lid and is in a 1 litre bottle. It has a label on the front which has quite a pretty natural image of grass and a clear blue sky with clouds and bubbles floating all around, it looks distinct like all Surcare products and the logo is on the front with a tag line of 'with nothing in to irritate skin' which put my mind at ease. It has three symbols on the front also which is that it gives 28 standard washes which is good value and that it has been dermatologically tested and approved and the other I couldn't read. It is a white liquid and the levels left in the bottle can be seen with it being clear.

So, to begin with there is a lot of information on the reverse label, this aims to be a solution which is made with nothing unnecessary that will irritate skin. It has no perfumes or fragrances and the main focus on this is to make the clothes come out soft which is what I want anyway. Now, there are a few warnings on this which are to not pour fabric conditioner directly onto clothes and to always dilute it before use as a final rinse. Also, that the 28 wash estimate has been based on a normal wash with medium water hardness. The bottle is made of recycled plastic and the product has not been tested on animals. It seems promising from looking at the packaging, now to put it to the test.
Upon looking on the reverse of the label there are for red crosses on images which are to not use the product on. These are keeping out of reach of children, keep away from eyes and rinse with water if you do so, wash hands when using, seek medical advice if swallowed. So, the lid is like a measuring cap, it screws on securely and it is easy to screw off. The product doesn't have much of a smell, it is quite fresh and slightly like normal detergent but more chemical and clean if anything which is fine for me, it smells like I'd want, fresh and like fresh air with a light soapy smell but of course it is unperfumed and fragrance free.
To use this softener it is recommend that 1 dosage is a full cap at 35ml. For a 4-5kg wash use 35ml and for 6-7kg use 55ml and for 10l use 18ml which is a handwash amount. I normally do a half load if not just a little bit more and I will use the full cap which is fine for me and on doing a handwash I will always use half a cap at the most. It is easy to use and very runny so you can pour with ease and then put into the machine. I find that my clothes come out of the wash smelling really nice which is what I want, they always look clean and my wool and cottons always feel soft when they come out of the wash, especially my towels they come out great.
Even with this being unscented I love using it, my skin is never irritated and I have been using this a few months now along with the detergent. It works well with it and as long as it doesn't hurt my skin then that is great for me. I am not a fan of strong smelling clothes anyway so this being subtle but really fresh smelling works fine. I'd recommend this for anyone with sensitive skin or eczema and even if you don't have it, there is no harm in using a more gentle formula on your clothes as it is good for skin and the results are definitely successful. I will be loyal to this brand and continue to use it if I can keep getting hold of it at Tesco.
INGREDIENTS: Surecare Concentrated Fabric Conditioner contains amongst other ingredients: 5-15% Cationic Surfactant ,Also contains Chloromethylisothiazolinone (and) Methylisothiazolinone (and) Octylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate.
This product is available to buy at both Tesco and Asda which is where I've seen it. At the moment Tesco are selling the 1 litre bottle for £1.40 with 29p off with a normal RRP of £1.69. Asda have a usual price of £1.30 on this also so they still work out the best price for buying this which is a great deal.
