I use surf powder for my laundry nearly every time I wash and when I was in my local costcutter they had the new concentrated liquid on offer for £1.49 so thought I would give it a try a you would normally expect to pay around £2.90 so I got a bargain.

There are many different scents you can choose from but I went for sunshine lemons and bergamot as I had already used the powder version so knew what to expect smell wise. This bottle has a really fresh summery smell and you can pick out the lemony aroma, it leaves a lovely clean fresh scent.

With the new concentrated liquid you are supposed to get 20 washes from one 730ml bottle where as with the box of powder you get 10 washes and I did find this to be true.

When you use the liquid you pour it into the lid and that gives you just the right amount for one full wash load, but you need a little more if your clothes are a little more dirty or have a stain you need to shift.

Surf does state you can idealy wash your clothes with this liquid at 30* C , and the packaging is then able to be recycled.

I have to say I was not dissapointed, the smell was a little stronger when I removed it from the washing machine and seemed to last longer than the powder version, I could smell the lovely summer like scent when I hung it on the line and it then mellowed when I ironed, but I did find when took my clothes out of the wardrobe to wear them, the smell was still there and stayed fresh througout the day.

I also find it easier to handwash with as you do not have to wait for the powder to dissolve. I also have a vax carpet washer that I used last week to freshen up my carpets, and I had run out of my vax solution so I put a small amount into my machine with warm water and it did a terrific job on my carpets and made my rooms smell lovely for days.

After trying this concentrated liquid, I was so pleased with the results that I then went back to costcutters and bought the two other fragrances to try at the reduced price and love them too.

Scents available:
Sunshine lemons and bergamot...the one I am reviewing. Comes in a yellow and white bottle.
Tropical flowers and ylang ylang... this has a more fresh floral smell. Comes in a cerise pink and white bottle.
Lavender and oriental blossom...again a floral smell with a strong lavender scent. Comes in a lilac and white bottle.

I will continue to buy the concentrated liquid from now on as it is better environment wise as it has less packaging, and I also prefer the results I get with this rather than the powder.
