Surf Small & Mighty Tropical

I decided to try out the 'small and mighty' heavily concentrated brands of washing powder. Tablets, gel pouches, powder, liquids...I'm not really fussed about what I use and I don't have a particular favourite. I know most people tend to choose a brand, or at least type, and stick to it. But for me it depends on how much money I have, where I'm living and how I'm going to get it home. So the smaller bottles are easy to carry (slightly - they are still very heavy), and I went for Surf because it was cheaper, and the 'tropical' scent sounded a bit different. I have bought this product in a number of different fragrances, but this one has to be my favourite. I was attracted to this bottle because it was part of a special offer in the supermarket. Tescos often allow you to buy one and get one free, or sometimes the price is slashed by a third. This product typically sells for around £2.98 for a 730 ml bottle. Surf Small & Mighty Tropical is provided in a plastic bottle with a screw top lid which doubles up as a 35ml measuring cap to measure out enough liquid for one full load of washing. I usually use around half a capful because I never have soiled washing or any stains etc but if you had a heavily soiled load then a full capful should suffice. The liquid is white in colour and quite white (because it's concentrated no doubt!). Surf is probably my favourite laundry liquid, although I feel it does now have a strong competitor in the form of Ariel Excel Gel which I recently reviewed here on Dooyoo. I say competitor as both these have the advantage for the environment in that they are concentrated liquids, and so transporting them requires less lorries, less fuel, and so therefore leaves less of a carbon footprint. I live in a flat that, for all it's charms and all I pay in rent, has a problem with condensation and damp. Because of this, all my beautiful clothes and towels often end up smelling musty - I walk round smelling like charity shops used to and vintage shops still do.
