There are a few different scents available in this range, but I like to stick with the tropical version. This is by far my favourite, and I find it the scent holds on the clothes a little better. You can pick this up from anywhere between £3 and £4.50, but I do find it is often on offer at one of the supermarkets so it is best to shop around. The packaging is very simple, a bottle with a screw top lid that doubles as a measuring cup. It has flowers on the packaging, which I really like; it looks nice sitting in the kitchen without taking up a large amount of space. The bottle is a 1 litre size with an estimated 28 washes in one bottle which I think is about right. I sometimes get a wash less, or a wash more depending how careful I am when I pour it, but usually it is correct. I like to add a little more of this if the clothes are really dirty, but for general day to day use I get good results from the recommended amount. To measure the correct amount out is very easy; simply use the cap for the bottle which is also a measuring cup. One cup full is enough for one wash, so you always know how much you need to add. The liquid is nice and thick so it pours easily without making a mess, but it does flow feely without sticking to the bottle. The cap does not get sticky or gunged up even towards the end of the bottle. What I love about this is as soon as I open the bottle the scent hits me. It is very strong, and nearly over powering while in the bottle. The scent is really fresh, and fruity it smells absolutely amazing. It has a very floral scent which really is noticeable. When I take the clothes out the scent again is very evident. Without having to hold the clothes too close to my nose I can smell the floral scent instantly. This scent does lingerie on the clothes for a good while too, I find when I put the clothes on the scent is still very notable even after sitting in the draws. When the clothes come out of the washing machine I find they are all really clean even on a low temperature washes. The clothes are really soft to touch, and feel nice while you are wearing them. I find the colours remain strong, without any running or reduction in the colour at all. I find it can remove some tough stains, but sometimes the clothes will need to go through a second wash if it is particularly difficult. I have to be careful with washing powder, as I find changing between brands can cause my daughters eczema to flare up. We have never had any irritation with surf detergents, and this liquid is no exception, as it causes no irritation at all. My whites come up really well with this liquid detergent which I sometimes have a problem with from other brands. I love using this product to wash my clothes. It is perfect to measure out, and provides a really clean finish I am looking for. It works well even on lower temperature washes, and the results are always great. It is nothing fancy, but it does give fantastic results while being quick and easy to use. It is a reasonable price for a product that works, but do shop around to find a deal as it works out a lot better.
==Overview== I purchased Surf Small & Mighty Concentrated Liquid 'Tropical' after buying just one box of washing powder. That stuff is seriously messy! One box later and I decided liquid washing powder was the way forward. I decided to try Surf Small & Mighty because it was on offer in Costco - the huge 84 washes was around £5.50 which seemed like good value. ==Value for Money== You are instructed to use a cap full of liquid per wash, I've never measured how many washes you actually do get out of a bottle but I tend not to use a full cap and it still washes the clothes fine. The smallest bottles do around 20 washes and typically can be picked up on offer in supermarkets for around £3. Still, the Costco deal used to be great but it has ended now. I think you can get this on Amazon - 2 small bottles for £6 so still a pretty good deal. ==What do I like== I really like this washing powder mainly for its fragrance. It has a lovely tropical smell to it which makes the laundry room smell delicious and makes your clothes smell lovely too. Even after they have been in the wardrobe for a few days, the clothes still come out smelling really nice and really fresh. We do all our washing at 40 degrees and except for seriously tough makeup stains (like waterproof mascara on white towels!) it gets majority of the dirt out, if it seems to struggle we just use a higher temperature which gets the dirt out. ==Overall== I would really recommend this product for the scent. It is particularly delicious and lingers for a long time. Additionally, it is a pretty good washing powder and causes no mess from messy powders. All in all, a great little washing powder.
As I live alone I hunt for bargains as I'm on a tight budget. I spotted this in my local Asda store the other day for the bargain price of £3.00. I thought that it was fantastic value for money as it does an incredible twenty eight washes. The packaging~ The bottle is very eye catching with pictured of flowers at the front. The brand name is clearly shown at the front of the bottle. The liquid is concentrasted and smells of flowers has a very femine scent to it. Surf contains essential oils of which you can smell the ylang ylang. This detergent is biological so would not be suitable for people with skin allergies. The bottle contains one litre of liquid. The bottle I bought had a measuring cap with it to make life easier on measuring. Myself using it~ I have been a fan of surf for a few years now I used to use the powder version before the liquid was invented. The quality of the product is excellent for the price. I simply add one capful to every wash I use it on whites and colours and it washes my clothes perfect every time. I uses a quick was cycle alot and to my suprise my washing still comes out looking amazingly clean. My washing stays smelling fresh for ages too.
I like to change cleaning products as often as I do beauty items as I always think that the 'grass is greener' and I'm missing out if I don't try something else. Up until recently I have always bought a washing liquid/ powder and separate fabric conditioner for my clothes but when funds were tight last week it seemed cheaper and more convenient to purchase a scented liquid detergent. This review is about my experience of using Surf's 'Small & Mighty' in their 'Tropical Oasis' fragrance.. As I normally buy two products (washing liquid and a fabric softener) costing around £4 in total I thought this concentrated bio liquid detergent was a bargain at only £2.69 for a reasonable sized 630 ml. Though this is a 'small test' sized bottle giving an estimate of 18 washes, it is identical to the larger versions of 28 and 54 washes apparently, though I have only used the smaller variety myself. My thoughts on using this.. I tend to go for separate wash/ conditioners for the reason that I like my laundry to not only be super soft to the touch, but also be scented enough to be noticeable without being too overbearing. I have found in the past that most wash liquids when used alone seem to be too weakly fragranced and this is the reason I don't often buy items such as this. Apart from the tempting price, the fragrance of Tropical Oasis which is made up of ylang ylang and lily was also very enticing and after doing the obligatory sniff of the product in the store and being impressed, I decided to purchase it. Packaging wise this is quite attractive in it's bright and warm colours of pink/ purple flowers on a white background with matching fuschia pink lid. The design however doesn't differ much from the standard washing liquid bottle design of many other brands being a rounded bottom half with a longer neck and plastic lid placed on top. There is a separate lid that sits over the top of the interior lid and is transparent and more rounded giving the appearance of an astronaut's space helmet which I presume is to measure the liquid too, despite there being no markings ingrained on it. I have never bothered with this larger lid as no doubt I would use far too much of the washing liquid and it would not be economical or practical to do so as I have always had the same effects by using less on my laundry anyway. The liquid itself is a very bright white in colour and is of a thickish consistency, this was to be expected given that it is a concentrated detergent and 'less is more' giving the same results. The scent is beautiful and really does have a tropical essence to it with the lily being the more domineering but without being *too* floral at the same time, making it ideal for use on my husband and two young son's clothes as well as my own. After using this on firstly my bedding, in the usual way by pouring the liquid into the drawer compartment of my machine, I was very pleased with my laundry when the cycle had finished and I was aware of the pretty scent even with the washing machine door still closed and in 'lock' position. On opening the door, the fragrance wafted gently out and the bedding was scented quite intensely with the tropical scent though after drying on my washing line (on a rare dry day) the scent had toned down and though not completely unnoticeable it was definitely more sedate. I have since used this several times to the point I have just purchased another bottle and I can't find anything negative to say about it. My clothes and bedding have all been incredibly clean, even on 30 degrees, and the fragrance lingers for at least 2 or 3 days depending on how much it's worn/ used. I find that though the scent seems to fade once the laundry is dry, it intensifies slightly when ironed by the heat and smells beautiful. This has not caused any skin reactions or itchiness/ soreness despite my skin bordering on the sensitive side at times so I really have nothing but praise for it. I won't list the ingredients as if anyone is interested for themselves they can be found on the back of the bottle itself, but if wanting more information you can check out www.surf.co.uk Availability wise this can be bought at most retail outlets that sell washing liquids but I purchased my bottles from my local discount Supermarket Ugo. An impressive wash liquid that cleans clothes well and infuses them with a beautiful scent at an affordable price, gets the thumbs up from me.
In the past I have mainly gone for the Tesco own brand washing detergents however they have recently changed the packaging, reduced the size but not the price and also I think changed the contents as well as the results have not been as good and my clothes do not smell as nice after the wash, now I know the conditioner has an impact on this but the detergent is important as well as you have to get the dirt and bad smells out of the clothes first before the softener has any effect. I bought mine as part of a BOGOF and paid £8.99 for the one bottle and of course got the second for nothing and this size should do about 60 washes as long as you use the recommended amount for a wash which is one cap full per normal machine load which is about 35ml of liquid. I must say that I really like the smell when you pour the concentrated detergent into the cap, it has a strong smell of lilies which is something i like and while it has a slightly chemical hint to it this is to be expected given that it is a cleaning product. The advertising boasts that it will be very effective even on low temperature washes, I tend to do most of mine on 30 degrees and certainly it has no problem lifting out stains and freshening up sweat sodden guy clothes which are rather ripe when popped in the wash, it is also effective on the various food and grass stains my daughter gets on her clothes as well. My clothes come out with a nice floral smell, I would not necessarily say it was particularly tropical but there is a hint of lilies I guess. I would certainly recommend this as it is a good product and especially if you can take advantage of a discount offer like I did as it brings the price below the store own brands.
The latest washing up detergent I have been using, is this Surf Small & Mighty Tropical which I got for a bargain price. I have never really used any Surf detergent before so this was a whole new brand to me but the idea of a tropical scent sounded to me quite different for a change and something I quite liked the sound of. This product comes in different bottle sizes but the one I decided to buy was the 18 washes one as if I really liked it, I could always buy a much bigger bottle later. PACKAGING This detergent comes in quite nice packaging, a white tall bottle, with pink flowers all over it and the Surf logo on the front of the bottle. It is very pretty and stands out on the shelf by being very colourful looking. It states that it is a concentrated liquid and that it does 18 washes. The pink lid is easy enough to use as it is what you measure and use to pour the liquid into the machine. The bottle is easy enough to hold and the packaging is definitely eye catching. SMALL & MIGHTY This product should be kept out of reach of children and hands should be rinsed and dried after use. This should also be kept away from eyes and rinsed with water immediately and those with sensitive or damaged skin, should avoid prolonged contact. This detergent has hints of ylang ylang and lily and is made with essential oils. It is aimed to give lasting freshness and sounds really nice and to smell the liquid, it is very floral but in a nice way, not too overpowering. I have used this to wash all clothes whites, colours and mud stained items and all have come up very well, whites white, colours bright and mud disappeared and it was very effective. The liquid is white and because it is concentrated, you only need a small amount to make it effective. The detergent aims to be so effective that it even works well in 15 degrees celsius washes. I usually wash a bit warmer than that but if you wish to try it I'm sure it will do as they say. To use this detergent, use just one full cap in your washing machine, there is 35ml in one cap. I always use the one cap and this is exactly enough to leave clothes very clean and smelling nice without too heavy a smell, just freshly clean. The product is in no way irritating to my skin which is good and clothes stay fresh until the next time. I am very happy with the results of this as so far I've had no problems as of yet which I hope stays that way. I think this product is nice for anyone who likes a change every so often as it has a lovely smell and effectively washes big or small loads of washing. It is very easy to use and gets rid of stains without any difficulty. It is reasonably priced and is just as good as any of the other detergents I have been using. INGREDIENTS: 15-50% Anionic Surfactants, Non-Ionic Surfactants,5-15% Soap, <5% Perfumes, Polycarboxylates, Phosphonates, Optical Brighteners, Citronellol, Butyl Methylpropional, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone ,Enzymes, Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamal, Geraniol, Limonene. COST To buy this Surf Small & Mighty you can buy it from most supermarkets. Tesco are selling the 18 washes bottle for £3.29 and the 28 washes bottle for £4.49 and the 1890ml big bottle for £8.99 which is currently on offer Buy One Get One Free which is a great deal if you want to stock up. They also have the 85 washes bottle which is £13 on offer at the minute. I got mine cheaper at Home Bargains for £1.99 for the 18 wash bottle just keep looking for offers. The official Surf website is http://www.surf.co.uk
Surf is the washing Powder that I usually and it is usually the Tropical scent that I go for. I had used the Liquid in the past but there is just something about using Powder for washing instead of a Liquid. Although they do the same job is just seems a bit wrong using a Liquid. This is just in my head I feel though. The first time I used this I took a little drop of this away on holiday. I didn't want to go around trying to find Powder when I was over there and didn't want to take a tub of Powder in my Suitcase, so this seemed a good choice. The last time I bought this for the house was about 4 months ago and I still have a little of this left. It was on offer for £3 instead of the usual price which is around £4.50. This is for a 1 litre bottle. Not sure if you can get this in any other sizes. The 1 litre bottle does an average of 28 washes. This is based on you using a full capful of this for you Washing Load which you would use if you had a full Load of Washing or if you want extra Softness. The bottle is alright. It is a plastic bottle and the label that goes around this is a shiny plastic which looks bright and colourful enough. You just use this in the usual way - it just feels like it is softener to be honest. Just measure this out and pop into the Washing Maching drawer and this will clean your clothes. The scent of this is nice. It is a nice fresh Tropical scent and although I would say it is hard to pinpoint what scent actually goes into here there does seem to be quite a few white Florals in here and I think 1 of them smells like Lillies. I feel that the scent of this seems to linger on my clothes a bit more than the powder does but that again could be in my head. This is nice and has encouraged me to try other Liquids to wash my clothes. A good scent from a good brand.
Always keen to try new washing liquids I bought some Surf Small & Mighty Tropical from my local Tesco. I bought a 1 litre bottle for £4.49 which claims to do 28 washes. I knew it would easily last me at least 28 washes because I never use a whole capful in a load, unless its an incredibly grubby wash, football kit for instance. The plastic bottle is curvy shaped with a plastic wrap around it. The Surf I bought was tropical flowers and ylang ylang, and this comes with a pink lid and pink flowers all around the label. Surf small & mighty is written in blue letters and underneath these we are informed that the washing liquid contains essential oils . The plastic wrap also informs the customer that this is a concentrated bio liquid detergent and will be enough for 28 washes. It also has the Cleaner Planet Plan symbol. There's more information about this on the back of the bottle or for those interested you can go to www.surf.co.uk. The back of the bottle gives the ingredients, the instructions for use which are basically 1 cap per load, some general information and a few standard warnings which are:- Keep away from children Rinse and dry hands after use Keep away from eyes Avoid using this product if you have sensitive or damaged skin. Suff small & mighty gives it best results from lower temperatures down to 15 oC. I personally have not used it this low, 30oC is the coolest wash I've done with this detergent. The Suff liquid is white in colour and has a very pleasant floral smell. Its a clean fresh fragrance and not too over powering. I popped a cap full ( the lid doubles up as the measuring cup) in the machine and left it to it. When I removed my laundry I was pleased to see all my washing was clean. It looked and smelt fresh, particularly the bed linen. I have 3 cats and stupidly decided to buy all white bed linen. I had a duvet with muddy paw prints on in the machine and I was pleased to see that Surf had cleaned these marks completely. Mark had also spilt tomato pasta sauce on a shirt and this had come clean first time too. On the day I first tried this liquid I had to dry my washing indoors, I don't have a tumble drier so its radiators and a linen horse for me. This is where some washing products fall down for me. Sometimes the smell of them is so overpowering it eventually gives me a headache. This particular Surf small & mighty, although could be smelt whilst the things were drying, has a very mild smell. Just enough to be there but certainly not overpowering. All in all I'm pleased I tried the tropical flowers and ylang ylang Surf small & mighty, it gave good results in the washing machine removing all stains with just one wash and the smell was just right. I would definitely recommend giving this one a try, I shall certainly be using it again.
I was in Tesco a couple of months ago when I spotted a great deal on the shelf. It was a huge three litre bottle of the Surf small and mighty liquid detergent with the tropical flowers and ylang ylang scent. This huge bottle was selling for around £6 I believe and for this price I was getting 85 washes! I snapped the bottle off the shelf immediately and took the bottle home. The product comes in a white bottle with a pink cap. This particular bottle has a carry handle as it is so big! On the front of the bottle is a label with the surf logo and lots of pretty pink flowers. We are told that the mega pack will give us 85 washes and that the detergent is 2x concentrated than the normal ranges. This contributes to the cleaner planet plan as the range uses half the water to make it, half the volume of packaging and half the lorries to deliver it meaning we can feel good about making this purchase. The product also claims to work as well in cold water but I cannot really comment on this as I did not use it in this way. When you remove the lid of the product immediately you are hit with a sweet smell which I wouldn't describe as floral but I would say is quite summery and probably tropical! I really do like the scent of this product and I enjoyed using it to wash our clothes. Each wash load needs just one small capful of the product to wash your clothes well. I found that this amount was great and I could still smell the scent on our clothes when the washer finished. What I found particularly nice was when I had to use my radiators to dry the clothes afterwards and the sweet scent would fill the house! I found that this detergent did a good job of cleaning mine and my son's clothes and for the most part removed any stains that were on the clothes. Tougher stains needed to have some extra attention but I have found this with all detergents that I have tried so far to be honest. My son can sometimes suffer from dry skin but this detergent did not affect his skin in any way which is a very positive thing for me and it means I will use this product again in the future. I really do recommend this product as I feel it has such a lovely scent and I will certainly purchase it again should I see it on offer! This is not taking anything away from the product as I just always tend to buy my washing detergents when they are on offer as they are an essential item but always so expensive! I give this product a full 5 stars! It gives good cleaning results, a nice scent and often has a very good price! Thank you for reading my review!
I changed from surf powder to surf liquid when I saw it on offer in costco. it worked out at about £2 a bottle so I picked up 18 bottles. I was on a cost cutting mission at the time, so I thought I would stock up. My bottle says it does 42 washes and I have been deliberatly using the measuring cap and it does do the 42 washes like they advertise. The packaging couldn't be any less so that ticks another plus box and I recycle my bottles at the local recycling center. The bottle has a clear how much to use guide on the reverse and lists the ingredients as well. Surf advertise that it produces outstanding results at 15c (I can't say whether this is true or not because I am stuck in my ways and like my mother and her mother before I wash either on a 40 or 60c out of habit) Both my children suffer from excezma and surf is the only washing detergent that suits them, all the different fragrances are fine and cause no reactions with the excezma. I buy a lot of products for the smell, so I was happy with this one as the smell is very pleasant, its mean't to be tropical flowers and ylang ylang, now I live in England and I have no idea what a ylang ylang flower looks like or smells like but if it smells like this I would like a bunch on my bedside cabinet. The only down side to the packaging I have is around the rim my bottles seem to drip, I am not sure whether its from the cap or a crack in the actual bottle but the last four bottles have all done the same, I have tried rinsing the cap but it makes no difference. Maybe the bottles have a weak point around the top. Not a huge problem but its not a one off event when its happened with four different bottles. I will stick with this brand although I may try the lemon fragrance for a change as that has great reviews and its the only one I haven't tried.
My wife and I have been trying lots of different products lately as we are trying to save some money and my wife and I came across this fabric detergent for only £2 for a 730ml bottle and so it was an absolute bargain, we bought 2 at the time as we recently bought the same brand but a different fragrance and so we knew we would probably like this one too and for the small price for a branded one it was not to be missed in my opinion. It comes in a pretty plastic bottle with a lovely nice coloured shade of pink screw off top and inside it is a very rich, white, very soft liquid and the moment the lid is taken off, you can smell the beautiful fragrance, it is very perfumy and is gorgeous ,it smells of lovely freshly picked flowers. It has a lid that also measures the amount needed for each load and for each load only a capful is needed for normal soiled fabrics and 1 and a half for those very heavily soiled ones. The clothes and bedding smell absolutely beautiful when taken out of the machine and it cleans them very well indeed, I have found it cleans the towels perfectly and my grandsons clothing that has the most stains on them for when he has been eating chocolate etc, it has cleaned them well and taken the stains from the fabrics. This is a concentrated liquid and so a smaller amount is needed and so the bottle size can wash up to 20 normal sized washes and it takes less room up in the laundry cupboard and also it last twice as long as the powdered ones, I really do love the powdered ones too but this one takes less room up and does not clog the drawer in the machine as it is liquid form it tends to dissolve much better in my opinion. It contains natural essential oils and so makes the fabrics nice and soft too and the texture of the liquid is extremely soft and the quality is amazing too. I found this one does not irritate the skin at all for my grandchildren and myself and my wife we are very happy with the results it give our fabrics and I highly recommend it to anyone to try and especially when it is on special offer as it can save you pounds. I have used this for hand washing too with some delicate fabrics and I have just soaked them in a small amount of the liquid and left them to soak for an hour or so and it has cleaned them to perfection in the same way the machine does for the normal fabrics. The bedding smells gorgeous and there is nothing better than getting into bed when it is freshly made with clean sheets etc and it makes me sleep much better too. The towels are amazingly clean, especially the tea towels as they are the most heavily soiled ones for obvious reasons and I am pleased with the results on them too. I give this one 5 stars.
Now that I've managed to get both a working washing machine and tumble dryer, I'm really relishing not having to trek all my washing up to my mums house twice a week, and being able to buy loads of lovely laundry products again , with my most recent purchase being a bottle of Surf small and mightly laundry detergent, in the Tropical Flowers and Ylang Ylang variety. This costs a little over £5.50 a bottle, but considering each bottle does 42 washes, thats not a bad price really, especially as I don't use this on all my laundry, just the stuff I really want to smell nice, such as bedding and towels. The bottle shape is quite nice, and it comes with a convenient measuring cap that allows you to measure out the detergent correctly . All the relevant information on how to use this is on the label, as well as any safety precautions and a list of ingredients, although the writing is quite small and may be hard to read for people who are short sighted . I generally wash my clothes on a low heat setting, around 30 degrees, although the bottle states that this can be used from as low as 15 degrees . It has a nice smell going into the drawer - but it's the smell on the clothes coming out that is most important. My clothes came out lovely and clean, and certainly as far as cleaning goes, this detergent performs well . After washing and drying my sheets, it was time to dig my nose in and have a sniff , and the smell was lovely , richly floral with a slight hint of something fruity underneath. It wasn't overpowering, but you could definitely smell it, and my bed smelt lovely when I tucked myself in that night. Overall, I think this is an excellent product which gets laundry lovely and clean and leaves it smelling wonderfully fresh. I wouldn't use it on clothes, simply because I use my own fragranced body products and wouldn't want this to interfere, but on bedding and towels I very much recommend it .
I usually always buy the Ariel liquid tablets for my washing but they seemed to be getting more expensive every time I bought them, so when I saw this Surf liquid detergent on offer in Sainsburys I thought I would give it a try . First impressions - The bottle is beautifully decorated with bright pink flowers, with it's hot pink lid and cute little blue birds, it stood out amongst the other fragrances from the range. The bottle is shaped with a curve to make it easy to grip, this is a great feature for me as I am forever dropping things. The fragrance is tropical flowers and ylang ylang which sounds opulent and evokes images of beautiful tropical islands, I lived in hope that it would be as good as it sounded. On the back of the bottle it clearly gives instructions on use, ingredients, and a little speech about their efforts to help the environment. What's inside the bottle of beauty- The bottle contains enough washing liquid to do 20 washes. It contains real natural essential oils. When I first took of the little hot pink lid, I was amazed at how the scent hit me. It really did smell fresh and whilst it had a strong floral fragrance it wasn't that 'old lady' smell detergents sometimes have. It was a 'calm and sophisticated lady' smell. The liquid is a creamy white colour, it is quite runny which makes it easy to pour but also easy to spill. Using it - This couldn't be simpler, no balls to fill up or little nets to find hiding in your washing basket, you just pour the liquid into the cap of the bottle, the fill line is clearly marked all the way round. Then you pour the liquid into the drawer of your washing machine. If you live in a hard water area you can add an extra half a cap and if you are hand washing you add half a cap to five litres of water as wash as normal. I was a bit sceptical at first as it didn't seem like a lot of detergent at all and with it's floral smell and cute bottle I just wasn't sure if it was man enough to handle my husbands dust and concrete covered work tops. The results are in - WOW - when I opened the door of my washing machine the smell was divine, still as gorgeous as it was in the bottle. As I was hanging out the washing I could tell straight away that it had done a good job, in fact it had done an incredible job. The clothes looked clean and there were no marks or stains left behind. Later in the day as I was ironing the clothes the aroma was still as strong and lovely, I was getting a bit worried though as I was sure my husband wouldn't be overly impressed at the thought of smelling like a tropical princess. Over the next few days as the washed clothes were worn, the scent lingered on it wasn't as strong as it had been but it was still there infused into the clothes. If I tried I could imagine myself on a beautiful island instead of the Dartford Bridge. Useful information - You can buy this Surf small and mighty from most supermarkets, I bought it in Sainsburys on offer for £1.97, the usual price is £3.04 so I got a bargain. You can also buy this in bigger bottles of 42 washes for £5.51. Any questions you can contact Surf on 0800444200 or visit their website at www.surf.co.uk I really couldn't fault this product, it looks good, smells good, is easy to use and really works.
My choice of washing powder/liquid often comes down to what's on offer when I need some as I am a real bargain hunter, Surf small and mighty has been on half price offer the last couple of times i have needed some, so Surf it is! The Packaging *********** SS&M comes in either a 730ml or 1470ml recyclable plastic bottle, the tropical flower & ylang ylang veriaty has a deep pink flower pattern around the central Surf logo and a pink lid. There is lots of information all over the bottle informing you SS&M is 2x concentrated, this bottle (1470ml) does 42 washes, it even works in cold water (15c), there is a "how much to use" table, some warning diagrams and even a free phone help/information line. The Contents *********** Inside the bottle you get 42 measures of this thick whitish really heavy scented liquid, the lid off the bottle = 1 measure but i usually just pour a drop in my washing machine drawer, or you can fill out a request for a free "dosing device" on the surf web site. My Opinion ********* As there is only me in my place I only do 1 or 2 washes a week so this 1470ml bottle lasts ages, as it's concentrated it's a more compact bottle, I also find it much easier and less messy to use then powder because it doesn't leak out the corner of the box and it's easier to measure/pour. So how well does it wash? My work clothes go in on a normal 40c wash and always come out looking clean, stain free and smelling very fresh, most of my other washing goes in on a quick 30c wash and also come out very clean and fresh. I have also used SS&M to do a quick hand wash in the sink with warm water, the liquid dissolves quickly and does a good job but needs a few good rinses out. If i had to look for bad points i think the only thing i don't like is the slightly silky or even greasy? feel left on your finished wash, it probably is supposed to be silky soft but just feels a little greasy to me. The Bottom Line ************* 5/5 when it it's on a half price offer but at a full price of around £5.50+ a bottle i would have to look for something a little cheaper, do what i done and stock up when it's on offer, i bought 3 large bottles. I warn you, this may seem a short review, but then it may also help majority of people out there trying to get there clothes clean, fresh and smelling great. I will admit I'm no domestic goddess. This is because (not meaning to sound sexist) I am a man, and therefore, always feel that playing my Xbox or watching football and cricket on sky sports, always seems to demand my attention. Therefore washing clothes is normally at the bottom of my daily priorities. The downside to being a man is that unless I want to go to work smelling like a tramp, washing my clothes is a must, and a chore I have carry out. Surf's small and mighty washing liquid is the best thing to washing your clothes, as bread is to butter, or chocolate to cake, or even chilli sauce to a kebab on a good night out. Surf has mastered the art of creating a washing liquid for washing your clothes in a machine that still gives you a result that is top banana. Surf have also mastered this art, to a perfection, to the point that so any daft git (like myself) can wash clothes, look presentable and smell great for work, without having to make a great effort. The only effort I do have to make is putting the clothes in to the washing machine, pouring Surf's small and mighty washing liquid into the draw, selecting the correct cycle, and then when the wash is complete, hanging my clothes up to dry. It does sound a lot of effort, but to be brutally honest, this rigour takes five minutes at the most. Surf's small and mighty range did not only draw my attention to it as a great clothes washing liquid because of it's efficiency and easy of use. Surf's small and mighty washing liquid is great because it makes your clothes smell great when you take them out of the washing machine, and also makes your clothes smell great when they are dry. This may sound bizzare, but wet clothes can smell different to dry ones, and when your clothes are hanging up in your living room above the radiator to dry, smell matters. The liquid comes in a bottle size that can easily last a month or longer, and therefore the price of Surf's small and mighty is easily justified. It is worth mentioning that it also comes in a great range of smells. One last point to make about Surf's brilliant small and mighty washing liquid, is that the liquid does not leave any dirty residue in the draw of the washing machine like any of the other powders or washing liquids on the market. In conclusion, Surf has produced a range of washing liquid's that smells great. They don't mess up your washing machine, and on top of that they make life easy. Surf small and mighty is also affordable. Surf's small and mighty also comes in a bottle that lasts a long time, and therefore like for like, with other soap powders/liquids, it is worth its weight in gold.
