Advantages: Cleans all my washing well and is one of the cheapest washing powders
Disadvantages: ---------
I have always used Bold washing powder but something has changed and it makes my excema flare up now. I tried Surf for a change and now its my favourite because it cleans my clothes well and makes them smell nice.
I usually use the yellow Sunshine variety as the smell isn't as artificial as the other types.
Surf says it will clean 99 % of stains and I think it does very well indeed. I have only come across one stain that it didn't remove and that was a cooking fat stain. This in fairness probably wasn't Surfs fault because the stain had been left to set in for a week before i washed it.
My washing always comes out of the machine clean and smells very fresh when it dries. I can't use softener because of my excema because even Fairy makes it worse but with Surf I don't need it because it leaves my clothes soft. Even when I dry my towels over the radiator they stay soft instead of going hard like usual.
The box has a little pull out ramp when you open it so it is very easy to pour however much I need into the powder drawer. I can always estimate how much powder I am going to need for each wash and it is easy to out just enough in. It doesn't lather very much but that doesnt seem to make any difference to the cleaning ability.
Surf Sunshine powder costs £1.89 for the normal size box and is also available in tablets and Small & Mighty liquid.
Summary: I used to use Bold but Surf is kinder to my skin and washes well
