Advantages: Its very powerful

Disadvantages: A bit expensive and very toxic.

After 20 years of being one l don't have to do it anymore. Now l'm a slapper, l slap it all over my cooker!!!I have found an oven and cooker cleaner that actually works.

Now don't get me wrong lts not that l didn't like scrubbing the oven clean (l'm not actually very good at it as it has always been a job that l put off till another day/week/month). Its just my oven seems to like to accrue this black stuff that l just cannot shift. No matter how hard l scrub it would not come off.

I've tried Mr Muscle and the like to no real avail and l was in my local hardware shop recently and they said 'Try this, it's Carbon Remover, that'll be whats on your oven'. I felt thoroughly ashamed for letting it get that bad, but thought l would try it.

It was quite expensive at £4.99 but l figured maybe you get what you pay for and would give it a whirl. It comes in 227ml tins and you have to keep it in a cool place.

The product comes in a tin like a small oil can and has a lid with a brush attached inside. It is made by 'Tableau' and is called 'Carbon Remover. Removes Baked on Grease & food Spills for Ceramic Hobs, Ovens, Roasting Trays, Barbeques and Chip Pans.'

It 'says' that it does all this by just coating the affected area and leaving preferably overnight. Now this was a problem as it also said you should do this in a well ventilated area. The most important things are the the precuations, they are :-

Harmful by inhalation, contact with skin or if swallowing. (now this stuff was so strong that l had to wear a mask when applying it)
Use in well ventilated area. Do not breath fumes (thats kinda hard)
wear rubber gloves (OK that was fine nothing melted or came through the gloves)
When using do not smoke (Well l don't smoke anyway but it was a good reminder not to start smoking especially whilst using this product)
Don't get i
n eyes, on skin or swallow. (I can't imagine anyone being silly enough to swallow it.)

Keep out of reach of children.

CONTAINS AMMONIA AND METHYLENE CHLORIDE. Very Harmful and toxic.

All this said l think it would better to take the oven in to an open field and wear a complete bodysuit, complete head covering maask and shoulder length gloves. (Just to be on the safe side) Mind you l'd probably get done for risking the spread of foot and mouth (luckily, we haven't got any in our county, l'm not being facicious, l really feel for the farmers).

Well l did the neccesary and left the product overnight.

You had to Ensure the surface was cold and dry, brush a thick coating of cleaner on the the carbon deposit and leave until the carbi#on is loose, preferable overnight. Then remove with cold water (Yeah, right!)The next morning l donned my protective gear and set to have another session as a scrubber. Not so, l was able to wipe (l mean wipe) the goo off. The original oven surfaces where smiling back at me (l hadn't seen some areas for years). Everything just wiped clean. I rinsed it off so easily, l just couldn't believe it. I would recommend it to anyone. IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!!!

Now my cooker will always stay clean. The extra cost involved is worth every penny.

It also works on deep fat fryers, roasting trays, frying pans and the metal shelves have come up shining bright as new.

So be like me stop being a scrubber and turn yourself into a wiper.
