Advantages: It does get the clothes clean

Disadvantages: Doesn't dissolve properly, no apparent conditioning

This review is for the 2-in-1 laundry tablets. That is, laundry tablets with both detergent and conditioner in.

Generally I use liquid detergent, and use a separate conditioner if I think the washing will go on the line - I don't bother with it if I'll be using the tumble drier.

But we were going on holiday and I needed to take some laundry detergent with me (I have three small children), so I thought I would buy a box of the tablets, and then I could just take a few with me. Then I realised I could get some with the conditioner in as well - excellent, even less to pack.

** The packaging **
They come in a cardboard box, and the tablets are wrapped in pairs in plastic wrappers. You are supposed to use two at a time so that makes sense.

** The price **
£3.50 for 48 tablets or 24 washes. If you get Tesco laundry tablets without conditioner in, they are £3. Tesco 2-in-1 Liquid detergent works out at £3.15 for 24 washes though. I guess you're paying for all the plastic wrappers.

** The cleaning **
Well, it got my clothes just as clean as the liquid stuff, and as clean as the liquid detergent-only (no conditioner) stuff. Seems ok. But I couldn't really tell that there was any conditioner in there. So the 2-in-1 aspect doesn't seem to be working. Back to using a separate conditioner I think.

** The side-effects **
Yeuch! Gunge in my washing-machine drawer! The tablets don't dissolve properly and the leftover gunge is starting to go mouldy. Eeeek! Looks like I'm going to have to scrub it out (and go back to using the liquid).

Summary: Not really worth it
