Advantages: Leaves laundry soft.
Disadvantages: The fragrance doesn't last
Recently I've been trying the Tesco Ambiance Fabric Conditioner range. The one Im using at the moment is the Tesco Ambiance Black Pearl. The name Black Pearl gives no indication of the fragrance of the softener so a good sniff is required in store before you buy.
The bottle is black with a silver/grey lid. It has a black plastic wrap around label. The front of the label has 2 big white flowers on it. The label has Tesco Ambiance Black Pearl written on it, it also informs the customer that they are getting 21 washes for their money and the softener has " scent release". The back if the label is very similar, it tells us that by using the product we will be " immersing our senses with the Ambiance collection and discovering a world of gorgeous fragrances and luxurious softness" A tall order for a fabric softener!
The instructions are on the side of the bottle along with some of the ingredients and a few standard warnings.
Keep away from children
Don't get the liquid in your eyes
Wash your hands if the softener comes into contact with them
Don't pour softener directly onto clothes.
The instructions advise that 1 full capful (lid) is sufficient for 1 regular wash.
The softener is white and quite runny. It has a faint floral smell and what I thought was a perfume type fragrance, however when I took my laundry from the machine I thought it was definitely less floral and more like a nice aftershave.
The smell aside though, my washing did smell nice and fresh. It was very soft, especially the towels.
I don't have a tumble drier so I have to rely on radiators and a clothes horse. While the washing the drying it really smelt like a nice after shave although it was very subtle. Once the washing was dry the smell had all but gone. I was disappointed. The laundry still felt soft but there was no fragrance.
My skin does tend to be on the sensitive side but I had no problems with this one.
I'm not sure I would buy this one again, it made my laundry feel very soft but I do like it to smell nice when its dry, particularly towels and bed linen.
A 750ml bottle of this will cost you £1.53, however its on offer at the moment, 2 for £2.50. According to Tesco website this offer runs until 2012.
Summary: Not really for me.
