      Excellent value

When it comes to purchasing a disinfectant, I honestly believe they all do the same job as any other brand. I am very fussy about which cleaning products I use but have found there is next to no difference when it comes to liquid disinfectant. That is way I always purchase own brands.

This bottle is from Tesco's and costs just 31p for a 1 Litre bottle. Great for me as I use this for everything, from the toilets and sinks to mopping the floors and easily get through a bottle a week. I purchase the Pine scented disinfectant which is a green coloured liquid in a clear bottle. The front label is the Tesco Every Day value one which in this case is cream and green with various cleaning tools pictured. The label also tells me that it kills germs around the home and is performance tested in an independent laboratory. The back labelling contains directions for use and the different doses that should be used for the various jobs this can be used for. There is also the warnings, storage and product information.

The lid is a white screw top but it is not child proof. Because of this I store my disinfectant in a locked cupboard as it could easily be opened by one of my children. It has a gorgeous pine smell to it, very clean smelling. I always look for citrus or pine fragrance in my cleaning products.

To use in my toilet or sink, I simply pour 3/4 capfuls of neat liquid down. I find it keeps my toilet bowl nice and sparkly as well as smelling fresh and stops my drains from smelling. I also use it to mop my floors, I don't measure my water but I fill my mop bucket to about half full and then add around 5 capfuls. I find this gives a lovely pine scent to my house without being so over powering. My floors are left shiny and clean with great ease. You can also use this disinfectant on your laundry but as I've never used it in this way I can not give an opinion on how well it does in this department.

Overall, I live this disinfectant. Cheap, smells lovely and keeps lots of different surfaces clean and germ free. I am deducting a star because it does not feature a child proof cap which I think should be standard in any cleaning product.

A great buy and one I am happy to buy time and time again!

One of the things I regulary buy to keep in my bathroom to wipe down all of it including my lamanate floor is disinfectant. Penny pinching at the moment this time I decided to buy a cheap bottle and this costing 31p for a 1L bottle seemed ideal to me to try out.

        The Packaging:

Well like I have just mentioned the bottle holds 1L of the disinfectant which happens to be a transparant emerald green colour and it has a twist on/off white cap to the top of it and then on the front of the bottle we are told that it is Tesco 'Value' Pine Disinfectant and there is a picture shown of pine cones. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told how to effectively use the product, storage and warnings are listed along with being told the composition of it and contact details for Tesco are given. This is cheap but straightforward looking packaging.

        Using It:

        Well directions for using it are on the back the bottle and are as follows;

For general duties such as disinfecting walls, floors, walls, tiles and other washable surfaces we are advised to use 8 capfuls of this highly smelling pine disinfectant to 5 Litres of cold water, for toilets, sinks and drains 6 capfuls can be used undiluted and laundry 8 capfuls per 5 litres and that is advised for cleaning nappies and sickroom linens and the likes.

Me, well like I stated at the top of this review I always use disinfectant in my bathroom after I got bleach, far too often on my clothes and the likes. I do mix up some of this with cold water and wipe down my tiles, my lamantate floor after sweeping it and my toilet, sink and bath. I also every night do put a couple of capfuls of this undiluted into the bowl however this doesn't have a nozzel so you can't direct it under the rim.

Does it kills germs though? Well I'm no scientist I'm just a homeowner who want to keep her flat bug/germ free, for it to look and feel clean and to smell fresh for a time and this does make my small room feel clean and leaves the scent lingering for a good couple of hours too. A little of this goes a long way, doesn't stain anything but do remember this isn't really meant to clean heavy soiled areas and is meant to disinfectant though I do wipe over dusty areas and the likes with it and it works great

This is a really good buy, doesn't break the bank and in my opinion is as good and effective as many far more expensive brands on the market!

        Only available from Tesco's.

My partner moved in with me about 6mnths months ago he has a guide dog as he is blind. The dog Brooke has a run which is a small enclosed area in the garden in which it does its business. He has to clean the run quite regularly as Brooke is a Labrador she does rather large poos that stink a lot.

Anyway my partner suggested buying tesco value pine disinfectant i was a bit wary i am not a snob but am always worried about buying cheap products as some are rubbish and you end up paying more anyway.

Well, anyway i was doing my shopping online got the disinfectant it was 35p a litre which i thought was amazing cheap. My partner has used 1 bottle to clean the run for at least a month an all is great. Considering it is really cheap it works really well i do not smell dog poo at all once it has been cleaned.

The cleaner is dark green in colour and is 35p a litre it is not very thick but is quite strong smelling of pine when it is in a bucket of water although it does not smell strongly of pine when you use it on paving areas.
It works well for us for the run although i have not used it for any other purpose but i do think for the price its well worth a try
