      An average toilet roll

I hate spending a lot of money on toilet roll given its use, however, I don't particularly like the tesco value toilet roll, so I always try and pick up offers or aim for somewhere in the middle. I am a fan of the Tesco luxury toilet roll as I think it is very good quality, but when I noticed Tesco were offering 2 for £5 on their embossed toilet roll, with 8 rolls in a pack, I thought it was worth trying, with each toilet roll working out at around 31p. Tesco claims on the front of their pack that each roll holds 220 sheets. It also states on the side of the packet, that these rolls are of the 'luxury' variety, and have been 'gently embossed' for 'extra softeness'. I can't comment a lot on the packaging as it is pretty plain. The embossed design on each roll is of little flowers which no doubt looks pretty on the holder in your bathroom. For those that are concerned about the environmental impact of such a product, Tesco has an approved FSC trademark stamp on it, whereby the wood that has been used to make this toilet roll has been sourced from forests that are well maintained and have to adhere strictly to environmental standards, which is reassuring. When I first took a toilet roll out of this packet, I did think that it did feel soft, not as soft as the likes of the Andrex rolls, but not bad. I also thought that it looked very thick, in comparison to some cheaper ranges, where you just know it won't last long. We have been working our way through the two packs that we got of these toilet rolls as part of the deal in Tesco, and I have to say that I am not overly fussed on these rolls. Yes, they look thick and soft, but I don't find that they last a good length of time, unlike the Tesco luxury rolls or some of the better known brands, and I certainly wouldn't classify it in the 'luxury' class of rolls, with average being a word I would use more. The actual toilet roll sheets are not that thick, and you need a few each time you use them. All in all, although this is a very good deal on toilet roll if you are getting the 2 for £5 offer, I don;t know that I would rush to get them again. I would certainly buy them over the value or discount brands on offer in Tesco, but I would still prefer the Tesco luxury toilet roll or take up offers on the bigger brands before buying these. I just don't think that these rolls live up to their claims of luxury, extra softness or simply just lasting a while. We seem to have worked our way through the packs quite quickly, which surprised me.
