Advantages: fabrics are freshened, cheap

Disadvantages: not such a fresh aroma

I wanted to try and reduce the costs of some household products so switched from febreeze - currently costing £2.00 - to tesco fabric freshener at £0.69.

The bottle has a trigger activated nozzle - you just need to turn the nozzle to the on position and spray.

My main reason for using this is actually to freshen up the sofas in the front room in the morning. As a smoker (tut tut yes i know that means I'm virtually a criminal!!) my front room can whiff a bit in the morning after the windows have been closed all night so I tend to open the windows and spray away. I dont spray too close to the sofa or fabric - the bottle advices 15 to 30cm away and I would agree wih this.

The first thing is you can definately tell this is not fabreze - it does not smell as fresh and is more perfumed - more like a flowery smell than a fresh smell and it reminded me of the scent of baby wipes. I think for the amount of savings you make on this it is not a major deal and the more overpowering aroma does fade quite quickly.

If you need to make a few savings then this is worth trying.

Summary: Worth it if budgeting

Try Zoflora, little bottle you dilute yourself to make as strong or as weak- it is antibacterial and smells lovely - you will find it in a glass bottle in a cardboard box. Quite small! Worth a go !

I've never felt the need to use a fabric freshener and dislike the idea of spraying unnecessary chemicals into the air I breathe. But if I did, I'd rather spend less than more, of course.
