One of the best red wine glasses around

We used to have a total of eight of the Tesco's Finest Red Wine Glasses until one of them became smashed during a family barbeque on the slab stones in our back garden area. I wasn't too upset as though these are Tesco's Finest glasses, they weren't too expensive and are easily replaceable. If you are looking for something plain, simple, understated and yet really elegant, then look no further than Tesco's Finest Range. I started off with a box of four but after having used them for a few weeks, I soon went back to Tesco and bought another box of four. They actually work out at £2.50 per glass as the box of four costs £10 in total. I realise that cheaper red wine glasses can be found at the likes of Ikea, but I actually do really think that these ones from Tesco are better in terms of quality. I feel that they look more expensive than just £2.50 a pop. They are made from clear crystalline glass and as they are dishwasher safe, they are very robust whilst still managing to look fairly delicate. I love the fact that these glasses have such a long stem and whilst it might look fairly fragile, it's actually quite robust. The base of the glass is wide so that I don't have to worry about it toppling over easily and as they are large enough to hold up to 450ml of red wine, ten these suit me just fine as it means I can fill my glass up (if I wanted to). I have also washed these glasses by hand and left to drain on the raining board, but as they are dishwasher safe I also pop them into the machine from time to time. Every time I have washed them, they have come out looking sparkling and they are not discoloured at all, despite having been washed many times over. Overall, I do feel that these simply designed red wine glasses from Tesco represent excellent value for money and I am very happy with them indeed. Highly recommended - cheers!

A fantastic wine glass from the Tesco Finest range.

As we have a home of our own now we love taking the opportunity to have dinner parties. We often have drinks, poker nights and gatherings around our house but a dinner party gives us an excuse to have a big cook up, get some wine flowing and have a good catch up with some of the couples in our circle of friends. I love an opportunity to dress up our table and listen to some good music too so dinner parties are probably one of my favourite social gatherings that we have in our home. As we love our wine, as do our friends, we have a couple of varieties of wine glass now - just like real adults!!! We had some wine glasses that we had received from my Mum when we moved in but unfortunately some of these got broken. We were looking to replace our glasses in something of a hurry and we ended up picking up a box of Tesco Finest red wine glasses. 4 glasses cost £10.00 and this seemed reasonable enough, particularly as we could earn Clubcard points too and use some vouchers that we had. These glasses look quite stylish without being over the top. They follow quite a simple design and are made from crystalline glass. As you can see from the picture they are clear and they hold over half a bottle of wine (standard size). The glass on these glasses is quite thin but it makes quite a nice ting if you tap it or toast with someone. So far we have used these on 5 or 6 occasions with no problems at all and no breakages or chipping occurring. We hand wash our glasses and always ensure that we use lukewarm water, soft sponges and then dry them up afterwards and pack them away to avoid any watermarks or dirt appearing on them. These glasses work out to be £2.50 each without using any vouchers. I think that these represent good value for money. They are a very reasonable size and the stem on them is nice and long and thin. They have stood the test of time so far and they look when set out on the table. Our guests have not noticed that these are from Tesco although I doubt they would anyway! As these are such a reasonable price I would not worry much if one of these got broken, also, they are widely available from Tesco stores or on the Tesco Direct website. Overall I am giving these a 5/5. They are just fantastic in my opinion and they hold wine which is all they are for really aren't they!

        a great bargain wine glass

Over Christmas we decided to have all our friends over for some dinner and a party, however although we had enough wine, we needed a few extra wineglasses to go around so we decided to buy these wine glasses simply because they were cheap and we needed quite a few. We ended up buying 8 for £20, which was fantastic value and just what we needed in our circumstances. These wineglasses are very simple, they do not have any swanky patterns on them like our other wineglasses, but they do the job and look the part. They are made from clear crystalline glass and can hold 460ml of wine (though I have never been fun enough to fill mine to the top lol). I like these glasses because they are a nice size and though sometimes I think that they feel a little thin and fragile, they have stood the test of time and I still have all 8 of the 8 glasses that I bought. A good thing about these wineglasses is that they are safe to use in the dishwasher, so far mine have came out lovely and sparkly and haven't worn or scratched easily. You can buy Tesco Finest Red Wine Glasses in Tesco's for £10, this gives you a 4 pack which is amazing value in my opinion as they are a nice simple wineglass and at £2.50 per glass, they are a bargain. Overall I think that these were a great bargain and I am glad that I bought them as they are great for when I have people over for parties at my house, I would hate to give them my more expensive wine glasses now in case they got broken, so it is nice to have cheap wineglasses for when people are less careful and more interested in having fun. These glasses look the part and aren't too sore on the bank balance, overall I would give them 5 out of 5 stars. *also on ciao under lorrainek90

I am pleased I bought these - great value

We do love our wine in our house and me and my other half usually enjoy a glass or two of wine most evenings once we get the little lad off to sleep. We enjoy both red and white but we do seem to have a few problems with some of the flimsier wine glasses which seem to be popular at the moment as the stems are not very thick and they tend to break or get smashed or damaged when they get washed. We bought a cardboard box from Tesco with four of their own range (Tesco Finest) for just £4, which works out at just one pound each, which we thought was a good bargain. They are a standard height, of about seven inches and the stem is a proper stem, by that I mean it doesn't liik as thin as spiders legs and you don't worry about it snapping off. Each glass holds 300ml of wine and they are just very plain glasses with no pattern on them at all, which is what we were after. These glasses are dishwasher safe and come out undamaged and looking lovely and clean and sparkling and ready for the next glass. They are big enough to hold a decent enough amount of wine so you don't have to go traipsing back to the kitchen for another refill - well, not much anyway. All in all a good product which we are very happy with They actually look more expensive then they are in my opinion and I really do recommend them. review also posted on Ciao as sorehead.

          A non suicidal wine glass!

~Wine Glasses Hate Me!~ I love my wine, it has to be said, I drink white wine as I find red to be too heavy and it usually gives me a headache. When it comes to wine glasses I have got to be the clumsiest person I know. Or maybe the wine glasses just hate me and decide to kill themselves. I have broken so many wine glasses I have lost count how many. Glasses for white wine are so thin and delicate or in my case to be more precise they just aren't big enough. Glasses for red wine are a decent size in my opinion, so I have taken to buying and using them instead, they are a lot stronger in my opinion and although I only drink white wine, I still buy the glasses specially designed for red. ~Tesco Finest Wine Glasses~ As I tend to get through so many wine glasses I decided that cheap and sturdy was the way to go. I found this box of four red wine glasses, in Tesco of course and decided they were just what I needed. Packed in a cardboard box with two of the corners cut out so I could see the glasses inside the box, these glasses seem quite tough in comparison to previous glasses I have bought in the past. Each glass holds around 300 ml of wine, good news as I don't have to keep refilling my glass every 2 seconds. Like all crockery etc. I washed the glasses before use, making sure I took extra care as this is when I usually break them, however because the glass seems so much thicker on these particular glasses, I didn't feel as nervous as usual whilst washing them. They can be put in the dishwasher as well but since I don't have a dishwasher myself this information is irrelevant to me personally. There is nothing whatsoever special about these wine glasses, they are totally plain to look at, and they stand around 7 and a half inches high, the stem of the glass is quite sturdy, that's what I particularly like about these glasses. The actual glass itself is quite thick so I don't feel like I'm going to put my teeth through it every time I take a drink from it. They seem pretty durable as I've had these glasses getting on for a year now and I haven't broken a single one of them (Yet!!) Since I'm the only one in the household that drinks wine, these glasses look set to lasting me quite a while and I would happily recommend them especially if you tend to be clumsy like me. ~Other information~ Tesco finest wine glasses cost about £4.00 for a box of four, really good value I think, especially if they are going to last you a long time as mine seem to be doing. Tesco sell quite a range of wine glasses, whether your after glasses for white or red wine your sure to find what you need within the Tesco range. 5 Stars then for these glasses, no problems with them at all, I can wash them, without them feeling the need to commit suicide and they hold lots of wine what more do I need? Thank you for reading my review which may also be posted on other sites.
