Tesco Ironing Water
Advantages: Has a lovely fresh smell that keeps my sheets smelling fresh for longer
Ironing water is something that I only just discovered a couple of years ago. Before that I had no idea that there was even such a thing and I used to add a couple of drops of essential oil to the water in my iron to try and scent my clothes.
When I discovered that I could actually buy water that was designed to be used in my iron to fragrance fabrics I started using that instead as it seemed a much better idea to use something that was especially designed to be used with irons and fabrics instead of just adding random oils to the water.
I probably wouldn't use ironing water if it was really expensive as I would consider it an unnecessary luxury but as it is only 80 pence for a litre of the water I don't find it to be too expensive or frivolous. Tesco's own brand is the only one that I use and their spring flowers is the one that I have used for ages now.
I should start by saying that I don't actually use this on clothes and instead only use it on my sheets and towels as I find that the nicest smell in the world is fresh laundry just out of the dryer but unfortunately the scent doesn't last all that long especially if they have been in the airing cupboard for a couple of weeks before they go on my bed.
The ironing water just helps lock in that fresh smell for longer. It has a lovely light floral fragrance and smells somewhat of fabric conditioner so is perfect for use on the sheets. It doesn't make the sheets any easier to iron but it really does help scent them and keep the just washed feeling in them for much longer than just fabric conditioner on its own.
I couldn't see why anyone would not buy this as it is cheap enough to not be a splurge but it makes a huge difference to the freshness of your sheets without being overpowering and offensively flowery. It also fragrances the whole room when I am ironing and the steam comes out of the ironing. It doesn't last all that long but even the next day after using it I can still get a faint smell of it.
