Only good enough to flush down the toilet (Tesco Luxury Soft Toilet Tissue)

Last week we found oursleves popping into Tesco to get a few bits and bobs & ended up buying these toilet rolls which were on offer. We usually buy the Asda white own brand toilet roll which I am very happy with, however as in Tesco we thought that we could give this product a go as usually own brands seem to be pretty much the same.

We got home and distributed the rolls in our bathrooms and placed themadmist the Asda rolls. Although their appearance appears the same, when used, there is definatley a difference in quality.

The Tesco rolls look well padded and feel soft to touch on the roll. When you begin to unravel them from the roll, this is when it becomes apparent that the toilet roll is not very good quality. The paper is relatively soft, however although 2 ply, aside from economy brands, I believe that this is the thinnest toilet paper that I have encountered. Due to this and the fact that it tears so easily, the rolls are obviously running out much quicker.

We have tried most supermarkets own brand toilet rolls and have to say that they are all pretty much at a good stndard so I don't really know what Tesco was thinking but they seem to have lost the edge on this product.

Initially I thought that I may have been 'a fussy woman' as my husband likes to call me but when questioned, he agreed with my disappointment with this product. Neither of us can understand where how the word luxury managed to enter the description!

Sorry Tesco, I won't be buying this product again & against the other big supermarkets, you're way behind with this product.


I thought that maybe I was just being fussy but my husband agrees with me.

Summary: spend less on economy or more on branded but avoid this product.
