Tesco Press 'N' Seal Sandwich Bags
Advantages: They do what you want them to do
Ever since my Josh started school back in 2002, I've always sent him to school with a packed lunch for dinner time. Well that's not strictly true as when he first started I paid for school dinners for his very first week. But ever since I have been sending him with a packed lunch. He hated school dinners and didn't eat anything at all at school. This is why I buy these Tesco press and seal sandwich bags.
~Tesco Press And Seal Sandwich Bags~
These sandwich bags come in a recycled cardboard box, which has a perforated edge to enable me to be able to remove the bags from the box easily one by one. There are 60 bags in the box which are slightly frosted in color they're not totally transparent although I can see through the bag to see what's inside. Each bag measures 19 by 21.5 cm and close to the top of the bags is a green seal strip which enables me to seal my sandwiches inside the bag and keep them fresh. The bags are individually folded and packed in the box which I appreciate, as I can't be doing with these bags that are stuck together with perforations, as I always end up pulling one and ending up with the whole lot rolling around the kitchen. To open the bag I just pull the two edges apart, taking care not to touch the seal strip, so that the bag can be sealed again if need be. I find the bags to be the perfect size for Josh's sandwiches, he only takes two slices of bread with the filling of his choice, cut in half and this fits just nice into the little sandwich bag. So his sandwiches can be placed into his lunch box along side his other bits and bobs that he takes to school for his lunch. I sometimes use the bags if I'm putting a cake or something similar into his lunch box, so as to keep that fresh also.
These bags do indeed keep the food I put into them fresh, I sometimes use the bags to store things in the fridge, with the bags having a seal this guarantees me that my food will remain fresh. I have been known to put opened blocks of cheese in these bags and they keep the cheese nice for quite a while. I would definitely recommend these food bags, especially if you have a child who takes a packed lunch to school each day. They are very easy to open and seal shut again, so even a child wouldn't struggle to keep things fresh in their lunch box.
Not to be used in the microwave or conventional oven.
Not recommended for use in the freezer, freezer bags should be used for this as they are a lot stronger and designed specifically for that purpose.
As always with products such as these please keep out of the reach of small children to avoid the risk of suffocation.
These press and seal bags can be found in Tesco stores and cost about £1.40 for a box of 60. I'm quite happy with these bags as they are strong, don't rip easily, in fact I don't think I've ever had one bag in all the time I've been buying them that has ripped. So really good quality food bags that keep food nice and fresh, highly recommended.
5 Stars then for a box of food bags that do what they claim too.
