Advantages: Leaves clothes soft, smells nice, good price
Disadvantages: Smell doesn't last long
I have tried numerous different fabric conditioners as I simply love nice smells, this fabric conditioner is one from the Tesco brand which I decided to try, it is not from the value range but from the next step up.
There are numerous different fragrances available in this range, purple - sleep easy, yellow - summer fresh, blue - spring fresh, white - pure and green which is meadow fresh. Each fragrance is available in two different sizes 750ml and 1.5 litres, the 750mls does 21 wash loads and costs £1 and the 1.5 litre does 42 wash loads and costs £1.95 so not really much of a saving by buying the bigger bottle.
The conditioner comes in a plastic bottle which is see through allowing you to see the product inside, I think it is a good idea when these products come in see through bottles as you are able to see when you are getting low on product. The bottle has a screw top cap which is coloured the same as the liquid which in this case is yellow although the picture above is showing the blue conditioner so not sure if Tesco may have recently changed it. The cap is also used to does your machine with the correct amount of product so I find you have to be quick putting the lid back on the bottle otherwise the dregs of liquid that haven't made the machine end up running down the bottle while you try to put the lid back on.
The main ingredients of the product are listed on the back of the bottle which are Cationic Surfactant ,5-15% Also contains ,Perfumes ,citronellol ,limonene ,2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1 ,3-diol. On the bottle you are also given the doesage instructions which are 11/3 capfuls for large loads 6-7kg, 1 capful for 4-5kg loads and ½ a capful per 10 litres of water for handwashing. Personally if I have ever been handwashing I have never even thought to use fabric conditioner and I have a 6kg machine and only ever use one capful as when I tried the full amount it made no difference to the performance.
I would say I feel the difference of fabric conditioner on my towels the most and especially like to make sure my babies towels are nice and soft, I would say that this product is no better and no worse than branded fabric conditioners and the only thing to let this down is the fragrance. The smell of this product is lovely and strong in the bottle and does smell just like a summers day all fresh and airy, the clothes smell lovely when they come out of the wash however this does not last. I put my clothes out to dry before I go to work and by the time I come home I can't really smell it much anymore and for this reason alone I don't buy this product. I like my clothes to smell nice and like products that linger on the clothes which is why I buy the better products when Asda have one of their cleaning events and they cost just the same as this product. I would recommend the product as a fabric conditioner but not if you want to smell it on the clothing like I do.
Summary: Only the smell that lets it down
