Advantages: Worked well

Disadvantages: more costly than powder

I'm not usually a tablet person - as far as washing powder goes I stick to the tesco value powder as it does the job cheaply and well enough. However when it came to washing my sofa covers I felt I really needed something that would wash well and yet hold as much of the colour in as possible.

I looked at the tablets that were on offer for Colours and Tesco were the cheapest so I bought them.

I have been told that tablets are "less fiddly" and "less messy" than powder but I don't buy this. By the time you have gotten hold of two tablets, unwrapped them and stuck them in the little bag in the wash, you haven't gained anything.

On performance, these worked fine. I haven't tired others yet so can't compare, but my covers were clean and held their colour. There was also no shrinkage which was a big relief.

They smelled clean but there wasn't an overbearing smell and it did not hang around for a long time which was good.

I would buy these again for another important wash, but for everyday use I stick to the Value powder and save myself money.
