One item that I use near enough on a daily basis is bleach. I am very OCD when it comes to cleaning and on a daily basis will bleach my sink, draining board, toilets, drains etc. Yes, it is a bit over the top but for someone who suffers with OCD it is a habit that is incredibly controlling. Therefore, my bleach addiction is quite expensive so I will always try cheaper alternatives in the hope that they will do just a good a job as the leading brands.

In my local Tesco recently I was stocking on cleaning products when there I was faced with my bleach selection. I ended up purchasing Tesco Thick Bleach 24 Hour Pink. Now my OCD really comes into play as not only is it bleach but one of the bottles will have to be stored in my en suite which is white with plum and fuschia pink add ins such as towels etc. Thus my need for the pink bleach yes a bit strange but I could not have a blue bottle of bleach in my en suite it would simply make me incredibly uncomfortable.

At 60p per bottle this was an incredibly decent buy considering the leading brands of bleach retail at over £1.00 and the bottle would probably last me a week as I'd be using it in the en suite and family bathroom. Tesco's own brand of bleach doesn't vary in terms of what it can be used for and I do find bleach incredibly useful when putting down plugholes, unblocking drains if unpleasant smells start to appear as well as bleaching white clothes and swilling round basins, toilet bowls etc to keep germs at bay.

Tesco Thick Bleach 24 Hour Pink comes in a large bright pink bottle which is made of a heavy duty plastic and isn't see through at all. It has a blue label which gives the product name together with the Tesco logo and an image of a drain. On the back there are strict warnings which should be adhered to such as it isn't for human consumption, be careful not to get it on the skin etc. There is also a lot of information on how to use the bleach together with what you can use bleach on/for which is actually quite useful. The bleach bottle does have a safety cap which when being opened you just need to squeeze in the two sides when turning it around to open.

The bleach much to my surprise (and probably naivety!) is not pink in colour which I was expecting considering the product name has the word 'pink' in. Instead it has the word 'pink' simply because the bottle is pink! The bleach itself is a clear liquid with a yellow hue to it so when using it to clean pale coloured surfaces such as a white wash basin you can clearly see the liquid. It has quite a decent consistency, it isn't water thin but not overly thick either but it manages to stick to the surfaces quite well. Of course it does come with the typical bleach type scent which isn't overly strong so once you've finished using it and rinsed whatever needs rinsing the odour doesn't linger.

To use the bleach to clean plug holes, drains, basins etc you simply need to squeeze the bottle and ensure the bleach hits the intended area. There is no need to dilute it first but when putting down drains for every day use after a few minutes you do just need to rinse it down with hot water thoroughly. To bleach white clothes you need to dilute a certain amount of bleach (generally about 50ml) into a bucket or bowl of cold water (about 10 litres) - you should always dilute the bleach first. If you want to soak the clothes overnight you just reduce the bleach by half.

I've been using this particular bleach now for a couple of weeks on a daily basis and I find that it manages to keep everything sparkling clean especially the toilet bowls and sinks which I intend to keep white. I have also used it to keep my sink sparkling clean which is does without any problems (I also bleach all my cutlery at least once a week to and they all come up looking pretty much as good as new!). The only thing I find I have to be careful is when I am using it to bleach white clothes (my other half has a lot of white shorts and football socks!) but it does the job perfectly and manages to keep the items whiter than white!

Overall, for 60p I think this bleach does the same job as a leading brand which you end up paying double for. I have absolutely no complaints about it whatsoever and will be buying it from now on as it suits my OCD needs perfectly and manages to keep everything clean. Definitely a recommendation and I can easily award this bleach 4 stars.
