Tesco Thick Bleach 24 Hour Pink
Advantages: cleans well, nice pink bottle, only 60p
Disadvantages: not really a "thick" bleach in my opinion
I am on a cost cutting mission what with the upcoming christmas period upon us and so getting things for cheaper where I can means more money to spend on presents! So when I saw this bottle of bleach in Tesco today for only 60p for a 750ml bottle there was no way I could resist. Especially after I read such good reviews about it on here already!
The 750ml bottle looks similar to mainstream brands of bleach as it has a protruding lid and has a red resealable cap. The plastic bottle is bright pink and as expected with these products, it has a child proof lid system whereby you have to squeeze it at certain pressure points and turn it to be able to open the lid effectively. This is good as although I keep my cleaning products out of sight you never know what may happen one day!
The bleach itself is a thick clear liquid, and I have to say it is a wee bit disappointing it's not pink at all even though I expected it from reading previous reviews. The description of it as "thick" is slightly misleading as I have had a sainsburys brand thick bleach and it was proper thick and substantial. This bleach is not necessarily is not thin or watery in any way but not as thick as other brands so this probably justifies it's lower price tag. I do find the smell of this bleach a bit more floral and fragrant as opposed to the harsh cheap bleach smells other budget bleaches tend to carry. This is nice as it leaves my bathroom smelling clean and more girly rather than all sterile as it has been bleached from head to toe.
We recently came back from a little weekend getaway and our bin smelled a bit offensive (can't think what we left in there!) so this bleach came in handy for cleaning and out the bin. Normally when I change my bin I always clean it usually with zoflora today it seemed appropriate to pour a small amount of bleach in with some boiling hot water and leave it to settle for 15 minutes before giving it a good scrub. This bleach was perfect for this job and with this bottle a little goes a long way as only a small squirt was necessary to do a good job. I also poured some down the sinks in the bathroom and kitchen as it had been a while since I had given down there a good clean and as this bleach has a 24hr period in which it "kills germs and bacteria dead" I am sure that by tomorrow down there will be gleaming!
I would say this is a good, cheap bleach, as it eliminates smelly odours, and kills bacteria as good as other brand name bleaches. The pink colour of the bottle is a nice attraction and I appreciate this as it allows me to save a few pennies! I would definitely recommend it :)
Summary: decent bleach from tesco for only 60p
