Disadvantages: Overpriced, Poor Quality
Tesco Ultra Absorbent Kitchen Towel costs £1.59 for 2 rolls. That works out at a rather expensive 80p per roll. Obviously as it's a Tesco own branded product, it's only available at Tesco (should you seriously want to buy it). Inside the rather plain packaging you'll find two rather plain looking rolls of kitchen towel. If you've ever seen Tesco Value kitchen towel rolls, then just imagine one of those made marginally softer - and bingo, that's exactly what this stuff looks like.
It's aborbent enough, but to be perfectly honest, no more so than Tesco Value kitchen roll is. So why are they charging an extra 49p for this stuff, than they are for the value stuff? Because it's got a different name on the outside packaging of course. To the untrained eye, it's like they've just taken a roll of value kitchen towel, given it a spritz of fabric softener and whacked it into a new outer packet.
The only thing this kitchen towel is any better at doing than the value stuff is, is holding a piece of cake in your hand and, if you're observant enough to notice it, having a margainally softer feel in your hand. When it comes to mopping up spills, or giving the kitchen sides a quick wipe, this stuff will tear and fall to pieces just as quickly as the value stuff does.
To be honest, this is a bottom shelf brand masquerading with a middle shelf price tag on. You're better off going for the much cheaper Tesco Value brand, or putting your hand in your pocket and buying a few rolls of Plenty. This is very poor value for money and I really can't recommend it at all.
