Tesco Value All Purpose Cloths
Advantages: versatile, cheap, design, thickness when folded
Disadvantages: don't absorb well
Value is the basic range of food and household products from Tesco.
~All Purpose Cloths~
These All Purpose cloths are part of the Value range. They come in a plain, see through plastic pack and there are 10 blue and white cloths in each pack. Each cloth measures in at 34 x 53cm. These cloths are suitable for lots of household cleaning jobs.
A 10pk is priced at 36p in Tesco stores which is a big saving when compared to the normal Tesco cloths which are £1.22.
I have lots of sprays and liquids for keeping my home clean but such products need a helping hand from cloths or scourer pads! I purchase a pack of the Tesco Value All Purpose Cloths each time I shop at Tesco. I occasionally purchase the Asda Smart Price ones. The pack is nothing amazing but keeps the cloths in one place and can easily be stored in the kitchen drawer as its nice and flat.
Each cloth can be unfolded to reveal a large, almost see through piece of material which has a blue striped design. The cloths aren't overly thick but quite tough and it takes a good grip to tear them. I personally use these folded down to a rectangle the size of my hand. This way, they are reasonably thick and easy to move around surfaces.
These cloths come in very handy for various cleaning activities. I have used them for cleaning my bathroom alongside a spray. They haren't afraid of light cleaning though these aren't for heavy duty scrubbing as they aren't too absorbant. Personally, the best use for them is when you have sprayed a surface such as the bath or sink and you need to use a dry cloth to wipe away grime and much. If these come in to contact with lots of water, they fail due to the lack of absorbancy within the fibres.
So the bathroom can be spruced up by skimming the sprayed surface and the grime is easy wiped away. I can unfold the cloth and refold to use on another surface in the bathroom whilst remembering to do the toilet last! These cloths are ideal in the kitchen for running over my worktops and are very gentle on surfaces such as my fridge and cooker top. For dried on stains, a scourer is more efficient but light surface work, these cloths do the job nicely and remove dirt leaving the area clean.
I also use these for wiping over my sons plastic table and my desk aswell as around the sink and taps and dish draining area. Most recently, they have came in extra handy for wiping over the windows throughout the flat. I found them to be ideal for this task as they absorbed the dirt into the fibres rather than spread it around. Basically, the cloths are ideal for light cleaning or surfaces which do require a soft material that won't scratch it.
At 3.6p each, they are a bargain and I can usually get around a week and a half use out of the full pack but this is dependant on what cleaning activities I am using them for. They are very versatile, affordable and although they don't absorb water all that well, they are durable and can take a bit of abuse without falling to pieces.
Overall.. very good all purpose cloths that every household should purchase.
Thanks for reading :)
