I hate cleaning the toilet but it's one of those jobs that has to be done. When growing up my mum always used Bloo in the toilet and when I left home I did the same but did notice that Tesco did a value cistern block and thought I'd give it a try as it was over £1 cheaper than the leading brands. The value cistern block cost 31p for 2 blocks (50g) where as Bloo costs £1.60 for 2 blocks which is a lot of money which is just going to be thrown down the toilet and in my opinion it still freshens and leaves your toilet clean. I don't know what it is, but a blue colour to the water in your toilet makes it seem much more pleasant and inviting in a strange sort of way. By using Cistern blocks however, does a lot more than just colouring the water bright blue, it also produces a pleasant smell, prevents stains and lime scale building up and kills off germs. There are several different types of cistern blocks on the market and probably the most popular and my former favourite has to be Bloo acticlean cistern blocks. A toilet cistern block is hardly the most exciting item to review, but I use these little circular blocks on a regular basis and feel that they are therefore a staple item in my house. This has led me to believe that they may well be a staple item in other people's houses too, hence this review... I have bought the Tesco Value branded cistern block for well over two years or so, as I find it is only marginally less efficient than a more popular-branded cistern block, yet it costs almost a quid cheaper. Toilet cleaning and freshness wouldn't exactly be up there on my top list of priorities, and I am therefore more than happy to sacrifice a little ... Read the complete review
