Tesco Value Food Wrap
Disadvantages: not easy to use
I absolutely hate running out of necessities in the kitchen so always like to keep stocked up on things that I know I am going to need such as cling film. I use it all the time for things like wrapping sandwiches for my lunch, covering food in the fridge and freezing things. I was coming to the end of my cling film so decided I would pick some up on my weekly shop. The only cling film that Tesco had in stock was their own one in their value range so I thought I would give it a go. At 40p it was a small risk that I was willing to take.
The packaging of this cling film is nothing special. It comes in a white cardboard box with 'Tesco value food wrap' on the top. The packet opens easily to unveil the cling film and one edge which has small cardboard spikes on in order to tear the cling film. These spikes are not too sharp so you are not in danger of cutting yourself.
Since there are spikes on the packaging it's my guess that Tesco have intended for the cling film to be rolled out from inside the box. This is near on impossible. There is nothing to hold the roll inside the box so when you go to roll the cling film out the whole roll just comes out of the box unless you hold it down. Having no luck with this method I decided I would take the cling film roll out and just use my hands or a knife to cut it where I needed to rather than using the little spikes.
At first the cling film seems to roll out easily however if you are not careful to roll it out flat it can begin to stick to itself. This can be very annoying and has lead to have to start again on more than one occasion.
I have found that the cling film is easy enough to tear with my hands but doesn't come out straight; this is not a major problem. If you do want it to be straight then it is easily cut with a knife.
When it comes to wrapping various things with this cling film I have had different results. With things like bowls and plates that I have wrapped to put in the fridge the cling film will wrap and stick perfectly. I have more trouble with wrapping food items such as sandwiches as for some reason the wrap does not want to stick. I find that wrapping the items twice seems to do the trick.
All in all this is a very average cling film, it does the job but with a bit of extra hassle. I would buy this again as it is a good buy when you are trying to save some pennies but there are better alternatives out there.

Summary: good for if you are saving pennies but does come with extra hassle
