Advantages: None unless you want to build your muscles up getting this off
Disadvantages: Hard work, poor quality
If I can save money I generally will but sometimes buying cut price, or cheaper products is a real false economy. This is exactly what happened when I tried Tesco spray furniture polish.
I already buy a few of these low price products including their tinned tomatoes and orange juice, so the range is not all bad. The furniture polish was priced at 43p and although it didn't look very interesting in its blue and white packaging, I didn't see much that could go wrong with it.
The 300mil can looks plain and simple and the blurb on the side says that it hasn't been tested on animals and gives a list of safety advice points. Don't spray near naked flame, don't pierce can, don't spray near face, eyes.
I was mistaken. The first thing I noticed was that when I sprayed it onto my glass table (it says on the can that it leaves glass streak free too), and it just seemed to froth up and then dry very quickly before I could rub it off. It was really hard work to get a shine.
On a wooden table it left a sticky residue behind which was practically impossible to remove without resorting to my usual can of Pledge. The smell wasn't exactly pleasant either. It has a very sharp chemical spray to it and wasn't very nice to use.
I thought this was a very poor product and even at such a low price it is a waste of money. Mine ended up in the dustbin.
To be fair here I wonder if my experience with this product was clouded by what I expected from this product. I didn't think that it would be as good, or as effective as my usual brand because it was cheap and made to a price. In this respect I wasn't disappointed.
I have read other reviews when people have found this product quite adequate for their needs and others where users have not been satisfied. This makes me wonder just how biased some of us are before we try these very cheap alternatives. Something inside some people mistrusts them before we even try.
Summary: I wouldn't by this again. It made really hard work of polishing.
