Advantages: cheap or what? nice smell & does the trick

Disadvantages: packaging - but what d'you expect for 31p?

having read several mixed reviews about the tesco value range on dooyoo I decided that I would pop a few items in my tesco.com shopping basket to try and save some money.

amongst the items I bought was a 300 ml can of value furniture polish for 31p

I've always used pledge or mr sheen for our wooden furniture as it has great sentimental value so was a bit wary at first as this was so cheap but now I'm kicking myself for not buying it sooner as I'm really pleased with the results!

the can doesn't look very exciting - in fact I'll hide it in my cupboard - it's a tall basically white tin with the red & blue value colours with a plastic top which is easy to remove

the push button spray is good as you can control the mist used which I think is essential

the smell is good - a sort of lavender fragrance which isn't too overpowering - just enough to prove you've been cleaning (I like that!)

does it work?
initially I tried it tentatively on the cheaper furniture & it polished well so I then cleaned the rest of the furniture and was well pleased.

I'd advise spraying then buffing straightaway as it might possibly stick a bit which means you'd have to rub much harder.

this can is going to last me a good few weeks I think although I do the the furniture 3 times a week - we seem to have the dustiest house in Cheshire for some unknown reason!



I like the way the directions for use are written in english, polish & other eastern european languages - makes me wonder how many countries the polish reaches & makes me smile when I think of us all doing the same boring job but using the same product lol!

the reverse of the can gives ingredients, directions & storage advise, flammable warnings etc as with more expensive brands

sorry mr sheen & pledge cos I'm buying a good product here and saving two thirds of your prices...

worth a try - may not suit everyone but I'm pleasantly surprised by how good it is & this will go on my favourites list at tesco
