Advantages: GREAT VALUE
Disadvantages: NONE FOR ME
Whilst perhaps not the most exciting product to review is one about cleaning up spills, I find that such things can be important when it comes to the smooth running of my house, and therefore have come to the conclusion that the information contained in this review may well be of use to somebody out there. For the rest of you, I can only apologise if you fall asleep half way through reading this review! ;-)
It was whilst I was picking up some 'top-up' shopping in my local Tesco supermarket that I suddenly remembered I needed some kitchen cleaner and some washing up liquid. Returning to the appropriate aisle in the store, I was busy scanning the relevant bottles of cleaners and sprays when my eye happened upon the 'Tesco Value' range of cleaning equipment.
I noticed that there were some white kitchen 'dish' cloths available to buy, with the 'Value' branding. A very basic packet of very basic-looking cloths they were, but as they were only 25 pence I figured they were worth a try for doing some cleaning chores around the house.
Already a keen user of several products from the Tesco 'Value' range, I knew that some of them were a bit of a 'hit and miss' although for the generally low cost, I am happy to take the risk and at least try the Value products out, before I make up my mind once and for all!
I am already a fan of the 'Tesco Value Pan Scrubbers' (review available on Dooyoo, of course!) and find that these take care of my 'cleaning needs' efficiently so I was keen to see if these little cloths were a good purchase too!
I had the chance to find out later that evening when my partner dropped a can of tinned tomatoes all over the kitchen work surfaces (sigh). After mopping up the worst of the mess, we set about bleaching and cleaning the surfaces thoroughly, and I opted to do so with one of these little cloths.
What struck me as I tore open the bag and removed one of the three cloths was how soft they were to the touch - I'm not sure what I had been expecting, but I was quite pleasantly surprised.
I was also surprised at how large they were - I had been kind of expecting a diddly little cloth but in actual fact each one measures approx 10 inches in length by about 9 inches, which is a size that seems to be on a par with other brands of cloths that I buy regularly.
I am truly converted to this latest product that has been given a full trial by me. For the low price I am very pleased with the results I have gained from using these little cloths. Not only have I used them for 'heavier' cleaning like my bathroom and kitchen surfaces, but I have found them to be great for washing dishes and pots and pans (though obviously I do not use the same cloth to wash all of these things lol, I have a separate one for each job, just in case you were wondering!)
I have actually popped these into the washing machine, although I have to admit that they cannot really keep their shape or their colour too well. What I have found though, after washing I can (for the most part) use it again for another little while on other little jobs around the house before finally throwing it away. The reason I do this is probably because I am quite a keen recycler and hate to think that these are completely disposable items that I should just chuck out and replace constantly.
Anyway, I would really recommend giving these a try - they offer great value and are very handy to have around the house to help you out with your chores!
Top marks from me - an absolute bargain!
