We go through a lot of dishcloths in our house and so we tend to just buy the cheaper ones as they never seem to last long anyway, no matter which ones we get. We shop at Tesco quite a lot and bought some of their Value Basic Range cloths in a sealed plastic bag for which we paid just 70p for three medium sized mesh cloths, which I personally thought was excellent value for money.

The bag was a bit hard to open and we had to cut it with scissors. My other half likes to boil wash our cloths but these just cannot take that hot a wash. We used them a few times to wash the dishes and work benches etc and then washed them on a hot wash with some other stuff. They had become a lot smaller and the mesh effect had sort of bunched up together and it ended up looking a right old mess.
In fact, even on a much lighter and cooler wash was they still don't come up looking too good. It doesn't matter what you do with them, either they always manage to look a grimey off white colour, which isn't very attractive and looks really bad when they have been washed and you hang them out to line dry - the neighbours must think we are filthy.

For that reason we have now just started to leave them sitting in a dish of diluted bleach overnight as an alternative and this seems to do the trick. We use them for cleaning the bathroom as well as the kitchen and we also use them to damp clean the bedrooms to make sure all the dust is up and its completely free of dirt and grime.

They are cheap and okay in my opinion, but not sure I'd really go so far as to recommend them as I don't think they are that great value for money.
