Advantages: good value
Disadvantages: bit small and thin
Let me begin by pointing out that Tesco have recently re-branded their value range and it is now sold as * everyday range*. Gone is the horrible cheap looking blue, red and white colours, replaced with more neutral shades. I like the re-brand as it looks far less tacky to me! However its what's inside that counts!
I have tried numerous of the Tesco everyday range with mixed feelings.I really liked the everyday pan scorers so when I saw a pack of 5 everyday washing up cloths I was keen to try them. Priced at just 75p for a pack of 5 ,they were a lot cheaper than the other brands on the shelf!
The cloths come in a clear plastic bag . The cloths are a bit smaller than other branded makes I have used including the Tesco *main stream* cloths. The cloths are white and soft to the touch. The other negative is that they are quite thin. The instructions recommend you rince the cloth well before the first use to remove any lose fibres.
I use these cloths in the kitchen and bathroom. They are fine for washing up and do as good a job as any cloth! They are also good for wiping the work surfaces although when using bleach I would always wear rubber gloves as they are thin and the bleach soaks through. I prefer to use a larger, thicker cloth for tough jobs such as washing the floor.
I like to buy white cloths as they don't shed colour if I use them for wiping spills form carpets or marks from paintwork.I have used these cloths for both these tasks and they perform reasonable well.
I reuse my cloths and have washed these on a hot 60 degree wash along with my towels and tea towels. They wash well and don't shrink. I like to hang them outside to dry as sunlight acts as a natural disinfectant. Overall I think theses are good value for mopney and although not as big or thick as more expensive brands, they are fine for everyday use!
