Cheap and colourful lunch bag from Tesco

My Lunch Bag is bright pink and very girly and for those who may not know why I carry a bright pink bag with me, it has the words "Lunch Bag" printed on the front in bold white letters.

I got to a point where I was so sick of my handbag carrying the smell of whatever filling I had chosen for my daily sandwiches that I went on a mission to find a more suitable carrier for them. I looked at several very similar bags, including cooling versions, versions with bottle carriers and also zip up lunch bags. However, the majority where priced just short of £10 a bag, whereas this beauty pinged through the till at Tesco at just £1.

The bag itself is a nylon material with a soft plastic interior. The edging is black and strong which means that it holds its shape well. The material is all one piece with the top just folding over and sticking to the front with a Velcro strip. It also has a black handle, which providing the weight in the bag isn't too much, will quite easily hold the bag.

The interior of this bag means that it is relatively waterproof and can be wiped down with a damp cost for cleaning purposes, but it is also lined for cooling purposes.

However, it is not strong enough to submerge in water and hold it. Over time the material between the nylon and the waterproof layer has broken down and the bag is no longer fully waterproof. This doesn't bother me at all as I do not put anything which may leak in it. However, if you were putting cartons of juice or bottle of drink in here, you may find things get a little bit sticky.

Overall this cheap and cheerful bag has been a wonderful purchase for me. It holds all my lunch and continues to be excellent value for money. I would 100% recommend this £1 buy for anyone looking for something to carry lunch (and glasses/book etc) in. It was in the aisle at Tesco where they have £1 buckets or shelves. The offers on these shelves change regularly so there is no guarantee they will have them in stock.
