Tesco value pine disinfectant
With our house consisting mainly of uncarpetted floors, there is a lot of mopping to be done. I usually use a disinfectant cleaner, because whilst it will disinfect the floors, it won't damage or bleach the old wood as some harsh products would.
I usually use some of the more well known brands, but a few weeks ago, decided to have a go with some of the value products on offer in stores
WHAT IS IT?
Basically this is what it says it is- a pine disinfectant containing disinfectant and perfume. Thankfully there is no long drawn out blurb on the back of the bottle extolling the virtues of the product and outlining its miracle features. It really does claim to be a simple disinfectant.
WHAT'S IT FOR?
The product can be used for general cleaning, and the instructions on the back of the bottle suggest that 8capfuls should be diluted with 5 litres of cold water and used to disinfect floors, tiles walls and other washable surfaces. To clean toilets sinks and drains, 6 capfuls of disinfectant should be poured undiluted around the toilet or sink. It can also be used for laundry to soak nappies and hankies before washing (if you do that kind of thing!)
WARNINGS...
As with most products like this, there are certain warnings, including:
*Do not mix with other chemicals
*Do not use with dilutions greater than 1 part disinfectant to 30 part water
*Store in a cool dry place
*Keep away from children
*Don't allow pets to walk on or lick surfaces until they are dry
* Avoid contact with skin and eyes
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING
Being one of those value products, I was not surprised that it comes in a fairly bland plastic bottle with a simple label on the front and some directions on the back. That's good enough for me because I want to pay for the product not the fancy packaging. A plus point is that it is a clear bottle (not brown as shown on the dooyoo picture!) so i can recycle it. Through the bottle I see a dark green liquid and when I unscrew the lid, the cleaner does have a very distinctive pine smell. The liquid itself is quite thick so it can be put onto a cloth and used for general cleaning rather than merely poured into a mop bucket with water and used for mopping.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The disinfectant is available online at www.tesco.com and instore at Tescos, and costs 31p for 1 litre, so it represents great value for money.
VERDICT
Great stuff! The product really makes my floors smell fresh and does a good job of cleaning them. The cleaner does the same job as the more expensive products at a fraction of the price.
For anyone with lots of floors to clean I would recommend this
Thanks for reading.
