Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Thin

I've read a couple of reviews lately that have found the Tesco Value Refuse Sacks less than useful. That hasn't been my experience at all, so I thought I should write a review from a different perspective.

As you can see from the picture, the bags come on a roll and there are 30 of them in a roll. I will agree with other reviews when they say they are thin, because they are certainly a lot thinner than most other bin bags. At less than half the price of the next cheapest roll of bags (of which there are only 20) they are certainly a lot cheaper too.

I use mine as a bin liner, because my kitchen bin is just slightly smaller than the old metal bins households used to use (for anyone old enough to remember the time before wheelie bins), so they are just a perfect size for the bin.

This is were the similarities of my experience with the bin bags ends, where others have said they've had problems with the bags ripping, I've never had that problem at all. And being a complete skinflint I absolutely cram the bin bag fill to the top. Usually once taking the bag out of the bin, I shuffle the rubbish around to create space at the top, and then empty all the smaller bins in the house into it.

The only time I've ever known one to split, was when I'd just thrown a broken glass into the bin and hadn't wrapped it in newspaper first, but I think you'd be hard pushed to find a bin bag that wouldn't rip in that instance.

For the difference in price, even if you think they are thin and want to double bag, then they would still work out better value than the next bags up in price.

Summary: I don't see the point of paying out extra, just to put it in the bin,

Some of Tesco's 'value' products are quite good, but this sound a waste of money. Thanks for the warning. Carol x

I tried double bagging these and they were still too thin and ripped!

They're just no good at all for disposing of body parts.
