Advantages: cheap & OK as long as they're not overfilled

Disadvantages: perforations a little hard to see, can split

We seem to go through an awful lot of bin bags in our house yet there's only 3 humans (sometimes 4) plus 1 cat & 1 dog. Since our local council have introduced wheelie bins I find I still go through loads but now use them mainly transporting rubbish to the appropriate bin.
eg. garden rubbish is all put into bin bag in front & back garden & then unloaded into the green wheelie, card, paper, junk mail etc ready for the blue wheelie, cans & bottles etc which are put into our brown bin. We don't yet have a bin for general rubbish - so guess what we use? - yes, bin bags!

Hubby usually buys them in bulk from the cash & carry but we ran out so I thought I'd try the Tesco Value ones to keep us going. I'm a great believer in 'you pay for what you get' so I wasn't really expecting them to be of a very good quality but I've bought much worse & paid more. These only cost 71p for 30 bags so as long as you're not after thick, sturdy bin bags I'd say these were fine.

They come on a roll & are as shown in the picture & you just need to tear the perforation part to release a bag. I'd advise doing this in a good light as the holes can be hard to find & don't rip off too hard or they may split & therefore are pretty useless.

They are slightly thicker than I thought they'd be &, to date, I've not had any disasters with them although I'm usually quite careful when filling them with garden waste by avoiding sharp branches & not filling them right to the top. We always pop one into our large Brabantia kitchen bin & as long as it's not full to the top then these cheapo bin bags are fine.

I use 2 for the pets' rubbish as their leftover food is very smelly in hot weather so I've found a double-wrap is essential when it's left outside for a week!

summary
~
- cheap but be warned they ARE value so don't expect very thick quality.
- need to be ripped off with care.
- can split but they're fine if you don't overfill.
- I've paid a lot more for similar quality so I'd advise giving them a try.

Summary: worth a try

We get the Asda version. They can be a bit thin.
