Advantages: good price and design
Disadvantages: hmm none really
We seem to have to empty our bin nearly every day in our house. It is a massive bin as well. I have to question how these 'other people' manage to find huge boxes and wrappers to fill it up without fail every single day. I am usually lumbered with the task of emptying it. I don't mind doing this, provided I can open the bin and tie a quick knot at the top and chuck it straight into the big wheelie bin outside.
I certainly don't have time to be messing around with bin liners which are going to split or won't allow you to tie them properly. There are some refuse sacks where you spend minutes trying to create some sort of knot at the top. Luckily, Tesco are on the case with their value sacks. Value, aye? Does that mean you fill them up and then when you carry the liner out, the bottom gives way and all the trash falls onto the carpet? Not at all! These are actually pretty good sacks. Generous in size, they fit with ease into kitchen bins and they allow you to pull the top of the sack over the top of the bin, thus meaning any food stuffs will be caught by the bin lining.
I have never had one tear, a bag will support food waste, boxes, packets, metal objects, tins and even glass items. They have an easy to tie feature at the top of the sack and they are easy to tear off when you need to get a new one. Price wise, they're about 70p for thirty sacks. A pack will last about two months and they are very useful for storing Christmas decorations, making capes and lining litter trays with too.
Thumbs up for a rubbish product.
Summary: v good

- 06/11/09 Emptying a massive bin nearly every day?? Can't imagine that, ours is a smallish one full once a week and that's hassle enough |
