Advantages: Cheap.

Disadvantages: Very thin plastic. Bags break easily. No tie for closure.

Refuse sacks are probably the most dull subject that it can be possible to write about - but they are a necessary fact of life that I suspect 99.9% of us use on a daily basis. And so, its this fact that has spurred me on to write the review....but I apologise as there isn't anything too interesting that can be said about a bin bag!

These bags can be bought from Tesco's for the price of 73p. Each roll contains 30 bags and so each bag cost the princely sum of 2.4p - which certainly isn't going to break the bank!

They are, unsurprisingly, made of black plastic and I principally use them to line the rubbish bin in my kitchen. I'm unsure of the exact dimensions, but I have an average size rubbish bin and it lines the inside of my bin perfectly.

The main problem I have with these bags is that they are very thin and, as a result, they aren't very strong either. If the bag is more than half full, when I try to take the bag out of the bin, it inevitably rips open. I have found that by double-bagging these bags, this improves the strength of them considerably, but it kind of annoys me because essentially this means I'm only buying 15 bags instead of 30. Sure, I understand they are not a premium item as they are in Tesco's "value" range, but this shouldn't mean they are substandard either.

I also don't like that these bags do not have handles to enable removable from the bin to be easier. Why don't refuse bags have handles because it would make it so much easier!? The other thing that would improve these bags if there were ties on the bag for closure - but unfortunately you need to make sure there is enough room left in the bag to tie a knot at the top once you want to close the bag.

The sacks are waterproof and when you remove them from the bin, as long as they do not rip(!), they do not leak any fluid that has accidentally got into the bag.

These refuse bags are substandard and there are better refuse sacks out there on the market for only a few more pennies.

Summary: Substandard.
