Tesco Value Refuse Sacks
Advantages: Double up they work well
Disadvantages: Thin, rip easily and offer no help
When it comes to household rubbish I need strong black bags but sometimes the price of them can be extremely high. I purchase all sorts in order to find the best value and the best black bags possible.
I tried the Tesco Value refuge sacks recently and was far from impressed. They were priced at 73p which was cheap and they had the typical boring Tesco value sticker on the front and at first glance the black bags look pretty good.
You pull them open and begin to open up the black bag and instantly you know they are weak because you can see light shining through the black bag because of how thin they are. You then try and place them into a bin for your rubbish which I do but they always split.
I put one bag in and filled the bag half way and when it was tied up the entire contents fell right through the bottom and back over the floor. I was shocked because although they are cheap you would expect them to last slightly longer than this.
I decided I would put some basic leaves from the garden into a bag because they were everywhere recently and leaves hardly weight that much and after three quarters of the bag was full it began yet again to come undone at the bottom and split.
I appreciate they are cheap but ripping open all the time is nothing more then annoying and when you want an item to last and give you some assistance you want it to work.
I even ripped two of the bags without opening them because they were attached to other bags in the roll quite tightly so again another problem with them.
I have a 30 litre bin apparently and it fills the entire area so the bag has some dimensions towards to it so you would hope it would work quite well. I find the fact that a 30 litre bin when half full rips the bag open then what would a bigger bin do ?.
There is no handles either for these bags and when you pull a bag out of a bin you sometimes rip them open because it is difficult to tie them up and pull them out.
There are a couple of good points if you use two or three together you get a better grip and for the price your not losing much and they work out at just over 2p a bag so that is why this would be a good idea.
Next time I am going to spend just that little more to make sure I get better quality.
Summary: A black bag which offers very little
