Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: need more than one each time if you want to fill the bin properly!
I often nip up to the local discount store when I need refuse sacks purely because they had a brand which cost £1.00 for thirty and they were actually pretty good! I see no point in paying lots of money for an item which is essentially filled with rubbish and thrown away. The last time I needed refuse sacks though I happened to be calling to Tesco and so picked up some of their value range ones for £1.00 for thirty, so equivalent to the ones I would usually get.
The refuse sacks come rolled together and then secured with a plain looked white paper label which just features the product name and Tesco value name as well. They look cheap and simple but I don't care from an item such as this because the first time you use them you have to rip the label off anyway!
The refuse sacks look just like any other plain refuse sack and are made from a black plastic. They are a good size for my kitchen bin but I was surprised by how thin they actually felt when I used them. My son and I were doing some tidying and throwing away some old and broken toys and we placed them in to one of these sacks and before it was even half full it ripped. Now I am aware sometimes toys have some pointy edges but I thought this was a bit rubbish in all honesty. Now when it comes to using them in my bin I don't feel I can trust them not to rip and spill all manner of messy things in to the bottom of my bin and so I always double them up when I use them now. With the ones from my local store I did not have to do this and so obviously it provides better value than my having to use two each time I change the refuse sack.
If you are looking for a refuse sack which is going to be strong this is not the one for you at all which is a shame because they are a good size and fit the bin well as well as leaving you with plenty of plastic to tie the sack up with as well when you empty it. Sadly I won't be purchasing these again because it is false economy paying £1.00 for thirty bags when I need to use two at once.
Thank you for reading my review!
