Tesco Value Refuse Sacks
Disadvantages: thin, not big enough and rip!
Bin bags are something that every household needs but I really don't like paying a lot of money for them as ultimately they are just rubbish so I tend to just pick up a roll of them from the local pound shop. I found myself in Tesco one afternoon and picked up a roll of the value refuse sacks which were priced at a pound for 30 sacks. I don't usually buy many value range products, not because I am a snob but because my experience of many products hasn't been that great but I thought a bin bag is a bin bag at the end of the day!
The Tesco value refuse sacks come in a roll, as do the majority of bin bags, and there is a white label wrapped around the centre which secures it together. It is a pretty plain label, with the Tesco logo at the top and 30 refuse sacks in red text. To use one of the bin bags you have to rip the label off which is then disposed of (the first thing to go in your fresh bin bag!) and you can unroll one of the bags.
The bin bags are just as any other bin bag looks, basically a large black bag made out of plastic. The big difference with these bin bags is how thin they are. As soon as I went to put one in my bin it ripped at the top around the rim of the bin which didn't really give me very high hopes for when there was rubbish in there! When the bin bag was in the bin it did seem as though there wasn't as much room in there as there are with others I have used. Using the bin as I normally do, I realised I would have to empty the bin sooner than normal. Emptying the bin was an absolute nightmare! As soon as I lifted the bin bag out it ripped and my rubbish ended up all over the floor which was absolutely disgusting let alone annoying!! I had to use another bin bag to pick up all the rubbish and that ended up inside another one in order to be able to carry it out to the wheelie bin so all in all three bin bags for one set of rubbish.
There is no way I would use these bin bags for my rubbish again, I bought some of my normal ones from the pound shop and have since used the value ones for parcels I have been sending! Would I recommend the Tesco Value bin bags? Not at all, they are too small for my bin (granted they will suit other bins), they are too thin and flimsy so were a complete waste of my pound!
Thank you for reading my review.
