Advantages: Ok for none sharp, light loads of rubbish
Disadvantages: Not thick, no handles, tear all to easy for my liking
When it comes to black bin bags, up until I bought these I thought they were pretty much all the same. These Tesco 'Value' ones cost me £1.40 for 40 bags and at the rate I get through them on a weekly basis what with four huge hamsters cages to change at least one a week and general garbage I decided to be a bit of a cheap skate and try them out!
The packaging of these is simple and I'm not going to dwell on that too much as quite simply they have a white, red and blue coloured label holding the bundle together on them that tears off easily and on that we are simply told what they are and who they are by and of course contact details for Tesco are given.
I found these smaller than my average bin bags that I usually buy. I popped one into my kitchen bin and as the black plastic was so thin and flimsy everytime I went to shove something in it,it had managed to pull away from the sides meaning I had to fish it out from amongst the rubbish with my hands which wasn't a very nice experience I can tell you and I got sick of doing that very fast indeed lol!
So they are as I have just mentioned a black colour and made from plastic albeit really, really thin plastic. Each bin bag is easy to pull off the large and thick roll as each bag has a perforated end to it and really they just don't feel strong or of good quality at all.
I found I could use them for light loads of rubbish, anything sharp...say like a can lid tore through it with incredible ease and meant I got rubbish and drips all over my floor and the likes and I found it hard to keep remembering not to over use them and so in the end I gave up using them in my kitchen as they gave way far to often for my liking and kept making right messes.
I was going to just sling them out however I now use these simply for cleaning out my hamster cages. I use sawdust and tissue for my lot which isn't sharp an/or heavy and I haven't had an issue with using them for this but as for a reliable bin bag they really are not and I wouldn't actually advise anyone to buy these!
Only available from Tesco stores and from tesco.com
