Advantages: They are very cheap to buy
Disadvantages: The bags are not strong and rip very easily
WHAT ARE THEY?
A roll of 30 black bin bags from Tesco. They are part of the Value range and cost 96p.
HOW DO THEY PERFORM?
Not very well. The bags are very thin and if you put heavy things into them they rip easily and the bottom of the bag falls out sometimes. Your load of rubbish does not need to be extra heavy for this to happen because these bags are not very strong at all. They are a regular size and fit my plastic kitchen bin but are too small for our garden bin that is the old fashioned round type. Because the material is so thin it's a problem to tie them if you put too much rubbish in one.
WHAT I THINK
I have only bought these twice because they are not very good and kept splitting when I took them out of the bin. They are so thin that when you hold them up to the light you can see the things behind the bag faintly, they are hard to rip off the roll as well because the perforations are not done properly so I kept ripping the bag next to it and then having to throw that away because it meant the bottom of the bag would be torn.
When I took some of my childrens clothes to the charity shop last week I used one of these bags and even though I only filled it half full with clothes the bag was stretching by the time I got it into the car and it wasn't very heavy. When we had a party I had to go to the shop and buy some better bin bags because it was taking me even longer than usual to clean up using these ones because they kept ripping and the bags are so thin that they're also hard to open at first.
Even though these bin bags are very cheap I will not buy them again because they don't perform well. They make the housework a lot harder and cause problems as well if they rip as I'm taking them out of the bin because then I get rubbish all over my kitchen floor, I used my last few to take some old quilts and pillows to the dog charity and they were ok for that but a bit narrow for me to roll the double duvet in properly even though it was only a light summer duvet.
1 Dooyoo Star.
Summary: I will not buy these bin bags again
