Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Yellows

These are so cheap that you can hardly believe your eyes - 15p! You can buy very little for 15p these days. What's more is that you get five of the blighters in the packet - so that's........very hard maths.......3p each. They are so much cheaper than all of the other scourers (Tesco's sponge pan cleaners were on the shelf at 75p)

At this price, you might be forgiven for thinking that they may not work very well - but you'd be wrong. They seem to work very well indeed. They are slightly smaller than the regular pan cleaners so if you have big hands they might be a bit fiddly. Otherwise, you apply to the pan and scrub. The results are good indicating that the materials used to make this pan scrub are up to the job.

Other Uses
--------------

The pan scrubs can also be used for other jobs such as scrubbing vegetables (I like to have organic veg as much as possible and leave the skins on - so scrubbing the organic dirt off is necessary. They can also be used for scrubbing work surfaces and ovens - being abrasive enough to shift stubborn or baked-on dirt. They are not, however, suitable for non-stick cookware.

Looking after the scrubs
------------------------------
After some hectic scrubbing, the sponges need to be ideally rinsed clean in hot soapy water to minimise bacteria growth.

Colour
--------
These pan scrubs start off pristine white with a dark green abrasive bottom but after a few uses, the white part turns to a tea stain yellow color which does not look very nice. This can happen quite quickly and easily without the scrub ever having come into contact with a strong/bad coloured stain. As the pan scrubs are so cheap, the stained one could be thrown away and a new one produced. However, in a recycle aware world - chucking things away because they have become aesthetically displeasing can be quite hard. This means, that for me, these 15p scrubs last a long time. I clean them and just make sure they are not on display.

Summary: Hide them when they're ugly
