Advantages: Cheap and easy to use

Disadvantages: Food gets stuck in them

These sponges are available from Tesco and cost just 15p for five. On one side they have a white sponge for giving a softer clean whilst on the other there is a scourer which helps to get rid of 'caked' on mess.

Unfortunately I don't own a dishwasher so I use these very regularly. They are a handy little cloth that can remove the stubborn food that remains on my plates. These sponges are really put to the test with me because I don't tend to wash my dishes straight after a meal; they are usually left until the next morning. This may digust some of you but I prefer to spend some quality time with my husband rather than spend half an hour to an hour washes dishes. The next morning when the boys are sleeping then I'm not taking away from the time I could be spending with anyone but myself.

The sponges are easy to use and I usually use the sponge side for the 'easy to remove' dirt and then turn it over for the stuff that doesn't want to come off.

They never mark my stainless steel pans and I have never been left with any scratches on my plates.

I tend to throw these away quite regularly and I'm not worried about doing this because they are so cheap. After a little while I find the 'scourer' part of the sponge gets a little thin and food gets stuck in it so it does need to be discarded.

The sponges are not only great for cleaning dishes but they do come in handy for other things too. My hubby uses them to clean and buff up his bike, I also like to scrub my potatoes with them and I use them to clean my bathroom. I even use them to throw at Noah! No it's not abuse, when it's warm, I wet them in a cold bowl of water and Noah is my target. He loves it and so do I!

Over all these are a great little product that I always tend to keep in my cupboard.

Summary: A great and cheap product

I prefer the non-stick variety of pan scourer - shame you can't get them in the Value range.
