Advantages: Clean pretty well

Anybody who is a regular reader of my reviews will know that lately I have reviewed a lot of products from the Tesco Value range as with the credit crunch in full throttle I have been tightening my belt along with everybody else. It's not necessarily that the products are great but as long as they do the job and save me a few pennies at the same time that's all that matters to me, and that is the case with Tesco Value Sponge Pan Cleaners.

~The Product~
Tesco Value Sponge Pan Cleaners are rectangular cleaning pads with a white sponge bottom and a green scouring layer on the top. Each pad measures around 4" x 2.5" and is just under an inch thick. They are quite versatile in the sense that they can be used for washing up or general cleaning and are safe to use on pretty much any surface as the scouring top is not at all harsh so won't scratch surfaces such as glass.

~Price/Packaging~
For a pack of 5 scourers you pay a very respectable 15p per pack, which I think is great value for money. The scourers are encased within a clear cellophane wrapper which is simply removed and thrown when opened.

~Summary~
In my opinion these clean pretty well for the price. My only gripe with them is that they are pretty flimsy. The Tesco Sponge cleaners which are not from the Value range have a far thicker layer of sponge on the bottom (probably around 2 inches more) which mean they last longer and take a lot more 'battering' than the Value ones.

However for a flimsy cleaner it didn't fall apart easily as I expected it too. The fact that it is quite flimsy came in quite handy when washing up actually as it got into those hard to reach places (i.e at the bottom of a glass) so the flimsiness isn't necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't trust it if you needed to get rid of stubborn stains with some harsh scrubbing - I don't think the pad would stand up to that kind of test but for everyday cleaning its fine, and for 15p a pack - what is there to complain about!

Well worth a try.
