Advantages: Cheap, works well, decent scent
Disadvantages: Plain packaging?
I have noticed a trend recently in any supermarket, it seems that people are quite shy and ashamed to purchase value product, the basic and cheaper alternatives to the expensive product. Occasionally, you will see some people trying to just pile plenty of their other goods onto of the value products just to cover it and hope that people do not notice them.
At first, I did find it quite weird to do so, because in your mind you knew that was the cheapest product if not one of the cheapest product of its kind in the store, therefore you felt uneasy and slightly shy.
After a few trips, I just became use to picking up the occasional value or basic product. In fact, I get a real satisfaction when I do so, because I'm telling myself that it is just great how much I can save when using the product.
I came across the Tesco Value Toilet Cleaner Pine, mainly because I have stopped believing that you need to purchase an expensive product to clean your bathrooms and other stuff. I find that this is a really good aspect of shopping to cut back on, because its not like you're going to taste the cleaning products and see how they taste, so I felt if it could do the job, it is enough, because I'm not willing to pay for a product with fancy packaging that will end up getting recycled anyway.
The packaging is plain and simple with a white bottle and the label across it, with the Tesco Value label and the writings in red and blue. The opening on the bottle is good and easy to get the liquid out, unlike some which can be a nightmare because the opening is either too small or too big.
The liquid itself is quite good, it is not diluted with other fluids which make them really watery. The colour of the liquid is green which would provide a good colour contrast on most bathroom surfaces for you to be able to spot where you have applied it.
When you open the bottle for the first time, you might not be used to the smell of the chemical which is slightly stronger than I am used to and it does then to linger in the air. There is a pleasant smell of pine which is fine because it gives a bit more scent to the toilet after you use it.
Overall, this is another great product for cleaning which is what you want just minus the fancy packaging with rainbow colours. At less than 30 pence per bottle, it is a good alternative which can save you some money in the long run.
Summary: A great product that really cuts down the cost of cleaning

- 14/08/09 Good opinion here. For buyers though some more info could be better here such as:
Is the pine cleaner easily to wash off without constant scrubbing the pan?
What quantity do you get for 30p?
Any hazards you think the general public should be aware of?
Adding info isnt compulsory but it could develop and boost your review here. |
