Advantages: Very cheap, but does the job well as good as dearer brands!

Disadvantages: None

With Christmas approaching very quickly I thought I would try and save a few pennies so I can get the usual overload of tubs of pringles, jars of pickles, boxes of cakes ect ect.... So walking down the cleaning aisle I spotted this Value Pine Toilet Cleaner.

Now don't get me wrong as I have to have a really clean bathroom and there is nothing better than when everyone has gone to work than when I can get in the bathroom and give it a good wipe over then finish with the usual squirt of blue or green liquid down the toilet ( after I have cleaned it of course!!) thats the final thing I do before closing the door. That's that done until someone gets back later, now I'm not loyal to any particular brand all I want is something that has a nice smell. Usually I buy Duck, Parozone or Tesco's own which cost around the £1 mark each. Being I need to buy 2 and I get through it like there's no tomorrow it does work out quite expensive each week.

Well I saw this Value one and I must say it does look really cheap and nasty, but at only 24p a bottle what have I got to loose. My one is in a slightly better looking bottle than the Dooyoo picture, with the bottle looking similiar to the other toilet cleaners in shape ( straight bottle with a curve at the top),but in a thin white plastic bottle with the front having a picture of some pine cones on it. You can see the dark green liquid through the plastic sloshing about.

On taking the childproof lid off you get the smell of strong disinfectant and pine coming through and when I poured it down the toilet under the rim it went on quite nicely, maybe not as thick as some I've used in the past.It covered the bowl well and did cling to the side really well. I did think it might just run down to the bottom, but it didn't and after quite a few hours had gone by I went in to check and it had then started to slowly sink down to the bottom of the bowl. Some still remained though and I could still smell the pine scent. I got the brush and rubbed the remaining bits of green away and it left the toilet looking nice and clean.

I think I will be buying this from now on as it did the job I wanted and kept the bathroom clean and fresh, the only down side is that it looks so cheap and nasty, so I will have to hide it under all my other shopping!!

At 24p for a 750ml this is excellant value, so I'm glad I tried this and now when I'm throwing money down the toilet it will only be pennies instead of pounds!!.

A very well earnt 5 stars.

Summary: Very good value indeed!
