Advantages: It holds its own

Disadvantages: It is still a value toilet roll, its not Andrex

There are two things I could do here- compare Tesco Value Toilet Roll with Andrex or Charmin or some other soft pouffy double quilted toilet roll with pictures of kisses and puppies on it-- or I can compare it to other "Value" toilet rolls.

Now there is just no point in comparing this toilet roll to the "Premium" brands. If you have the money to buy 9 rolls of Andrex super soft or Charmin (the brand bears prefer?) for the same price of around 48 rolls of Tesco Value Toilet Roll, the go ahead and do just that, nothing else will do for you unless you are making cutbacks and you choose to buy a cheaper brand.

If on the other hand, like a lot of people, you just cannot justify spending £4 - 6 on 9 rolls of toilet roll then I have to say from my experiences, Tesco Value Toilet roll has the upper hand amongst the "lesser" Value brands.

Asda "Smart Price" toilet roll (38p for 4 rolls, £1.18 for 12 rolls) has much smaller rolls that are grey, flimsy rolls which are stuck together with too much glue at the end and you WILL find you use a roll per day of this as it is so thin and flimsy (not because you decide to go to the loo so much more). It is obvious when you buy Asda Smart Price Toilet Roll as it looks a right sorry sight on the toilet roll holder.

The Tesco toilet roll holds its own on your toilet roll holder. It disguises itself well and looks like some of the more "expensive" rolls, without the puppies, kisses and bizarre scented qualities of the premium brands.

Overall- if you choose or have no choice but to have to buy Value toilet roll, the Tesco Value toilet roll is the best of the bunch. At 4 rolls for around 44p or 12 rolls for around £1.20 then it makes good budget sense.

Summary: If you buy from the Value range, then this is one of the best

I go to Farmfoods for my toilet paper - you can get 9 rolls of quilted, 3 ply lotioned paper for £2 in there.
