I lost my job a few months ago (booo recession!) but was lucky enough to find a new one within a few monts (yay me!), during that unemployed living on thin air period I had to reasses my shopping habits and downgrade a few purchases from their branded counterparts to the stores very basic own brand.

In a way, losing my job worked out well in the end as I have actually stuck with some of the shops own brand products as the saving is pretty good and the quality is still OK. Tesco value toilet roll is one that I have stuck with.

We buy 4 for about 40 odd pence and it lasts 2 of us the week, so lasts the same amount of time as the previous branded tissue that cost about 2/3 times more.

It comes in the normal Tesco no frills value packaging, but the packaging doesn't really bother me really as all I do is throw it out. The toilet tissue itself is definitely rougher and thinner than the prevous brand but it doesn't bother me really, I wipe and go, it does the job!

It's a bit thin and a bit rough, but it's cheap and lasts us the week like the old £1.50 brand used to so I'll be sticking with this.
