Tesco Value Toilet Tissue
Advantages: The price
Disadvantages: None for me
For a long while when me and my husband did the weekly shop we would always buy Tesco discount brand toilet roll, I refuse to spend out a lot of money on something that just gets flushed down the toilet, however one week they had sold out of the discount version so we had to buy an alternative. After looking along the shelves a lot of the brands were very expensive and in my opinion a total waste of money, then I spotted Tesco Value Toilet Roll, I suggested it to my husband who wasn't keen on the idea of trying it but it was either that or spend more on a different brand so we decided to give it a go, after all if we really hated it we could use it up and buy our regular brand once they had it in stock.
The packaging of Tesco Value \Toilet Roll is very basic and blends in with the rest of the Value Range. The toilet rolls come tightly wrapped in a clear plastic wrapper sealed at the top and bottom to keep the toilet rolls inside clean. The wrapper then has a red band going around the whole of the packet, the Tesco Value logo appears in the top left hand corner. Written inside the red band going around the packet are the words "Toilet Tissue" along with the amount of rolls in the packet and the amount of sheets you get per roll. In the bottom right hand corner is the FSC logo which is a blue square shape with the white outline of a tree in it and the initials FSC, this logo means that by buying this product you are supporting the growth of responsible forest management around the world. On the back of the packet is a small amount of information about the Tesco Value Toilet Rolls, this is clearly set out and easy to read.
Tesco Value Toilet Rolls are nothing fancy at all, they have no pattern on them and make no claims to be quilted or contain aloe vera, all you get with these is a pack of four plain white 2 ply toilet rolls, the toilet tissue comes wrapped around a plain brown cardboard tube, the same as most brands of toilet rolls do. I think you can buy six packs of Tesco Value Toilet Rolls, however my local Tesco only stocks the four pack which is plenty for us. Each roll contains approximately 400 sheets each, to be honest I'm not sure if this is standard or not I cannot remember how many sheets my regular brand contains and I cannot say that I have really studied other brands to see how many sheets they have per roll but going on appearance alone the rolls do look to be a standard size for a toilet roll.
When we first tried the Tesco Value Toilet Rolls I was expecting them to be quite hard and rough feeling, however I was pleasantly surprised at how soft they were, obviously the sheets of toilet tissue were not quilted or anything, however they were not rough at all. The toilet tissue is absorbent and does not fall apart as soon as it is used, that was my other worry with it, I did think you may have to use a large amount in one go just to stop it from falling apart, however this was not the case, you could easily use just a few sheets at a time as you can with the more expensive toilet rolls. All in all I was very pleased with the softness of the toilet rolls and how well they performed in doing what they are supposed to.
The Value Toilet Roll obviously can only be purchased from Tesco, the pack of four costs just £1.31. For such a cheap price this is an excellent product, the pack of four rolls lasts just as long as the more expensive brands, obviously this depends on how often you use it and how much you use at a time but personally I have been impressed with how long it lasts. Personally I think this is a real bargain and excellent value for money.
I would definitely recommend Tesco Value Toilet Roll, it is a good quality product for a very low price, at the end of the day toilet roll just gets flushed down the toilet so I will not spend a massive amount of money on it, however with this one you get a good quality product for very little money. It is soft and absorbent and does not feel rough or hard at all, I am more than happy to have this in my bathroom. The product does not make any claims to be quilted or anything like that, it is just a basic but decent toilet roll, it also only comes in white, however for me this is not a problem as I only ever buy white toilet paper but if you prefer a different colour to match the colour scheme of your bathroom then this is not ideal as it only comes in the one colour. . Overall I was extremely pleased that I decided to give this a go and I have purchased it ever since, we will continue to use Tesco Value Toilet Roll and would recommend it to anyone.
Summary: A good toilet roll for the price
